Hi just wondering what it is like at the fort on holloween night. Is there anything special going on,ant trick or treating.Witch we would love have not had a trick or treater in 8 years at my house. Also is it busy, schould I book now. Thanks

if you have not booked for halloween yet, i do believe you are going to be out of luck, however i did cancel my regular reservation yesterday for halloween, but it fills up fast...you will probably have to wait for a cancellation like mine (i went into a group ressie instead)

anyways...trick-or-treating at the fort is awesome and the kids absolutely love it...it (in my opinion) is much safer and quieter than where i live and there are a ton of kids around, along with adults, all dressed up...most of the campers will either be out in front of their sites or have a bowl of candy for the kids to take some of...

my son had his first try last year and loved every second of it

I......I mean my kids, cant wait to go trick or treating at the Fort. They are already planning thier costumes. All of the grandparents are going to stay and man the sites with candy and all of the parents will take the kids around. We are also planning on having a huge potluck early dinner so we aren't running back from a park during rush hour. Our plan is to spend the day relaxing at the fort and maybe take part in some of the halloween activities they have planned for the day.

We did it last year and the trick 'o treating, the dog parade, and the cart parade were all fun, just book you reservation early.

It all sounds like lots of fun.The dog parade sounds good even though my pups would probaly have to sit that one out.I will be booking this week!:cool1:

We were at the fort last fall, went to the park on the 30th and hung out in the campground on the 31st. We are still eating candy...... trying to drive a car on teh 31st at night is just not a good idea, way to may people and golf carts.

If you can get in, have fun, remeber your decorations

In the words of my GS this was the best trick or treating of my life. (mind u he was only 4)
I am also cancelling my reservation today, since we are booked with the group reservation as well. I just got my confirm in the mail.

I cant wait! We're always at Disney on Halloween, but usually stay in the Pop. Now we have a camper and we cant wait to see what its like at the Fort on Halloween. We're going to make that a Fort day instead of a park day. So there's a golf cart parade? Hmmm....I wonder if my kids would rather watch the parade or enter the parade?

We had so much fun last year at the Fort on Halloween that we are going back this year!! We were AMAZED at the extent of the decorations at many of the campsites, we are bringing more with us this year than we did last year! Our son who has never enjoyed trick or treating at home before (5 years old now with autism) just had a wonderful time there, actually by the end of the night he was finally saying "trick or treat" and smiling and having a great time! We did not participate in any of the other activities that day, were at the MK and got back just in time to trick or treat, but plan to get an earlier start this year. We just left a bowl of candy out at the end of our site as we didn't have anybody to stay behind and watch it for us, plenty of folks did that too. Oh, and after trick or treating you can go up to the beach and watch the Hallowishes fireworks complete with piped in music, fabulous! Halloween is DH's birthday, this year will be his 40th, and he is so excited about being back at the fort!

this will be our first year at the fort for halloween, and i am super excited!! Please tell me that people trick or treat in the tent / pop up areas as much as in the camper areas!!

We'll be there for Halloween too! I'm already planning costumes for the puppies:lovestruc but Matt thinks I'm crazy:lmao: He's thining up ways to decorate the golf cart though:rotfl2:

See everyone there!!!

For those of you wondering what happens at the Fort on Halloween, check out this trip report: Halloween 2008 at the Fort

The official schedule of activities from 2008 is there. There are no guarantees that these activities will be repeated in 2009, but there certainly will be lots of decorations and trick or treating.

hopeisb4u, yes we covered the entire Fort by golfcart, and so did lots of others. You will have kiddies over there too!

Oh yes -- tons of Trick or Treating to be had! We are also looking forward to covering more territory this year in a golf cart, last year we were only able to do two loops -- look out here we come this year!! :woohoo:
