Hollister??

It's a clothes store, yet the models are barely wearing any.

ok sometimes they wear a bathing suit

sometimes they wear a tank top with a zip up hoodie

so they do wear something

ok, i do admit, sometimes the male models have only jeans on. but really, why is it such a big deal!

That's just my oppinion.

Because the mall is a FAMILY place.
Why in the world does a parent have to explain to their young child why a man is standing in the mall in his underwear?
It's not appropriate.

And why aim at ONE store? You know how many companies do this as well? Many worse.

Doesn't Victoria's Secret sell.. lingerie?
Obviously they're going to have models wearing only bras and panties..
Frederick's of Hollywood does too...
That's the worst example you could give.. because its just obvious that they're going to be half naked.

Yes,I know that.
That's why we also discussed earlier in the thread that those stores were just as inappropriate.

Yes but the sell clothes and they have the PINK line.
How do I know?
I made the mistake of buying a pair of PINK sweats and now they send me a monthly catalouge.

Oh okay.. but isn't it still focused as a lingerie store? Like La Senza? That's only lingerie, other than their sleepwear.

Basically yeah.
Like if you ask a person to say what they think of VS 99.9% of the time they'll say 'Oh they sell lingerie'.

I have some stuff from there.
Personally, I like it.
I mean, its a little on the expensive side.
But you can always find really great deals in the clearence sections.

Exactly.. that's why I think it's definately appropirate for them to be able to show models only wearing bras and panties. Because that's what they focus on. VS didn't always have the PINK line, so before then, it would have been all lingerie. But when there's a store selling just clothes, that different, because they should be covering up the models in as much clothes as possible, still making it look cute, so that people look at it, and say "wow, I love that whole outfit" and they buy each item of clothing.

Being a college student attending an INSANELY expensive college ($13,000 dollars a SEMESTER)...I have better things I need to spend money on than a $30 shirt...actually I don't even know what stuff costs there, but I do know that it is uber expensive.

Go to Ross. Cheap stuff.

It's not gonna matter in the long run whether or not you had the awesome Hollister shirt or the cool American Eagle jeans.

I want to go through a day in clothes that I like wearing...and if you compare prices to any other store in a mall, it's NOT expensive.

Delias shirts are like, what? $25 per shirt? And Hollister's is $15 per shirt.

Really?
Forever21?
Walmart?
Target?
JC Penny?

Those are expensive!?
Well then somebody shoot me, and show me what "cheap" is...

JcPenneys, Sears, Buckle, Vanity, Forever21, Dillards (well, okay it can get expensive because they carry designer brands)? I could go on.

No offense, I'm just trying to make the point that A&F is expensive compared to other stores.

A&F is the most expensive chain store I've been into (well other than a local chain that carries True Religion and other expensive things).
The sweaters can be 70$ and up.
At any store, I could buy two or three sweaters for that price.
