OK, this is a long shot, but last week we had a holiday wine in Germany in Epcot - it was a red wine, served warm. REALLY YUMMY. My hubby really liked it & I'd like to find some....

anybody know the name of it?

Nuernberger Gluehwein. Spiced wine with cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg. We buy it at at the PX (hubby is in the Army), but anything labeled "mulled wine" is close.

Mulled wine - It is VERY easy to make - William Sonoma sells mulling spices - you just buy red wine and throw it on the stove with some sugar and the mullied spices and let it simmer then either serve warm or cold.

just ditto on what the others said, it is Gluehwein (pronounced glee-wine) and is extremely easy to make and a lot cheaper and better.
You may be able to find gluehwein sachets in a specialty store, or use mulling spices, or you could probably google a recipe for the spices

That's so funny it's cheaper to MAKE in the U. S. Here in Germany, you can get a liter for 1-2 Euros!! Gluhwein. . .in Southern Germany at least. . .is pronounced Gloo-vine. There are many of versions I believe. . .good luck in your hunt! I'll be coming to Disney in early Jan - let me know if you want me to bring a bottle! :goodvibes

Hmmmm, my german FIL pronounces it "glee" :confused3
I was just coming back to add that I incorrectly wrote "glee-Wine" but that he pronounces it "glee-Vine"

My German friend who showed us around Germany during the holidays also pronounced it "Glue-vine."

It could be a dialect thing though. I don't know what part of Germany your FIL is from. We were in Schwabia and always heard "glue-vine."

Side note...Loved Germany during the holidays!

DH fell in love with Gluehwein 2 years ago. He bought a bottle, and when we came home, he took it to a local wine shop. The owner got a case for us, at a much lower price than what we had paid for at Epcot. BTW, the CMs pronounced it "Glue-Vine" as well.
