On Christmas Day my DW and I started out back at DTD, although we were in the marketplace, as opposed to the PI end where we had been late into the previous night. We did some shopping, love the fact that we can direct ship home from the counter. Shipping did go up a little in price, but we don't pay a sales tax, and the few extra dollars is well worht the convenience. After shopping we headed over to MK and took the boat to FW to catch the HDD with our family, what a great Christmas dinner, we had Rob or Bor (he uses both as his pen says) and he was a great addition to the atmosphere and the show we enjoyed. I can not say enough about the food, we tried to only snack during the day so that we could gorge ourselves on the rolls (replaced the bread, but still good), salad, corn onthe cob, bbq ribs, fried chicken, beverages, and who could forget the strawberry shortcake. After the show we weathered the rain and went over to MK, we arrived just after the first SM parade of the night and before fireworks. DW and I took advantage of the timing and headed to a near vacant Frontierland. We rode BTMRR and SM repeatedly and viewed Hollowishes from the tops of those two mountains as we rode, it was a great viewing experience that we sometimes try to do in off-peak times, but it worked out just right for us during this the "busiest night of the year". We also caught PotC, CoP, and hit some of the shops before heading out as we watched the 2nd trip of the EM parade that night. We headed back to our balcony at SSR, had a cocktail on the balcony, watched the activity at DTD for a few minutes, and called it a night. Next up Epcot.

It is hard to believe Frontierland was empty during the parade. I heard the MK was packed during Christmas. Glad you were able to enjoy the park.

DUring the parade everyone had flooded toward Main Street USA, because that seemed to be their "must" place to watch it. That left the far end of Frontierland virtually "empty" and by WDW standards it was empty, probably only 200 people hanging around the two Mountains for that 25-30 minute window of time, it was a brief oasis, and well enjoyed.:thumbsup2

I am sure it was fantastic. I see you are from NH and probably enjoy the warmth of the south. We were there the week before and the weather was fantastic......thanks so much for sharing your Christmas with us
