Is there such a thing?

If so, what does it entail?

Would it be good for a 6 and 7 year old?

We've been to DLR many times, so I thought I would add a tour to our late November trip as something different.

TIA!

Yes there is such a thing!
The Holiday Tour goes around DL talking about the decorations in the park & the different holiday traditions that are practiced. You walk down MS & the tour guide will talk about the tree & its ornaments, NOS & their decorations, Haunted Mansion Holiday, Big Thunder Ranch to see the reindeer, It's a Small World Holiday, & get seats for A Christmas Fantasy Parade. And while you're watching the parade, they give you goodies to snack on too! I love the holiday tour & I think kids will enjoy it. You even get a special pin at the end of the tour.

You're put in a small group with a tour guide. You have a headset so that you can hear your guide as well as the Christmas music he/she will play. You learn interesting holiday facts about the resort in various parts of the park, you sing Christmas carols (and you forget that the people around you who are not in the tour can't hear the music, just your singing :rotfl:), and you learn all about the many holiday decorations throughout DL. You get to ride on HM with it's NBC overlay and then you will hop on the train in NOS and head over to the Small World station, singing carols as you go. You then get to ride the holiday Small World. BTW, you get front-of-the-line status on all rides :goodvibes. When you get off SW, you go over to the snack bar near Princess Fantasy Faire and you will be given a big holiday keepsake travel mug of cocoa and a giant MM gingerbread cookie (which is delicious! The ears are dipped in chocolate and the tummy has a white chocolate center). THEN you are led over to a special area of chairs with front-row seating for the holiday parade! It's awesome. Many of the characters in the parade will come over and high-five you and wave. After the parade, we were given a commemorative pin and a special FP for almost any ride.

I think kids would love it, though I went with my sister and not my kids!

With our ap discount, I think it was $47 each. You can get the same discount if you have a AAA card. I plan to go again this year!

And you can meet fellow DIS members on the tour- Right DIZME!!?!?!!? :rotfl2:

It is a really cool tour and we plan on doing it again this November trip!

Thank you very much for the information!

Does anyone remember what time the tour is?

When can I sign up for it? I don't see it listed on the Disney website.

How do I sign up?

What if my kids are scared of HM? Any way to bypass that ride?

There are two tours each day. They end with the parade so it depends on if you want to see the parade during the day or night. We preferred the night so our tour began at 4:30 and were in our parade seats just before 6:30.
You actually call the our desk 30 days out and pay with reservations.
It's not listed on the website yet and won;t be until the Halloween stuff is over.
You can make arrangements with the tour guide to meet the group after HM. The TG will hold up a lighted candle so they will be easy to find.
You go from HM to the train station to take it over to Toontown to ride IASW. From there you stop and get hot cocoa and gingerbread mickeys before taking your seats.
We were very lucky. Our tour guide gave us front of the line passes with those great pins!!

If you're concerned about them being scared, you can always tell the tour guide so they won't have to ride it. During the Halloween tour, the tour guide asked if everyone was going to go on BTM. My DM didn't want to go on it bc of her head, so she was able to sit out for the ride & wait until we were done.

When you say it ends with special seats at the parade, are you talking about the Candlelight Processional, or another parade? Thanks.

Not the Candlelight Processional, which I believe only happens a few times?, but the regular holiday parade that ends with snow. They do it twice a day during the holiday season.

Would I have to pay for my under 3's? Also, how stroller friendly is the tour?

Thanks!

Oh yay! We are going to do this tour in December! I can't wait it will be our first tour:goodvibes so you do get an AP discount? I wonder if there is a limit on how many tickets you can buy for this with your AP? Does anyone know:confused3

I don't know about paying for the 3's but I can tell you that it is very stroller friendly. We used ours for DD as it was very crowded and we felt a little safer with her in the stroller

We did this tour last December and did not get front of the line status on rides, except for HM and IASW during the tour. Also our tour did not have headsets or did the other two tours going on at the same time. Apparently they were not working on our night. We also did not get special FP for any ride either. Just wanted to make sure that the OP was aware that it appears it differs depending on who does your tour I guess. :confused3

Oops! I worded that poorly :headache:. I meant that you get front-of-the-line status on all rides that you go on during the tour, which as you said was HM, IASW and the train. Sorry if I misled people! We did get the FP for any ride (there were 2 exceptions, Toy Story and I forget the other), but I had not heard of that perk before so I think it was a little extra from our guide. He was super nice and said he has been doing it for a long time. Maybe ballarinamom remembers his name? Aside from that, I think the rest is typical. That's too bad you guys didn't get the headsets! Did you get the Mickey gingerbread man and cocoa in a keepsake travel mug?

Does the tour continue after Christmas? We will be there on the 28th and 29th, and I would love to do this. Thanks!

This sounds like so much fun!! I plan to book this for the day after Thanksgivingng for the afternoon tour with seating for the evening parade...so we have to book this one month in advance right (if I want the tour on 11/27, then I have to call on 10/27)?...Thanks for all the info...

Let's just say for arguments sake that the best day for my family to take this tour is......New Years Eve :scared1:

Historically, is it even offered on NYE? And could I conceivably get "locked out" of getting to the tour if the park ends up at capacity before I arrive?

Thanks

Yes they have the tour throughout their holiday season & that includes NYE. I've even done it NYE, so yes it's offered.
To make sure that you have a spot for the tour is to make a reservation early in advance. If you try to make arrangements for a tour the same day you're there, the spots might be taken.
