Holiday Tour info

The $50 cost (using AAA or AP discount) doesn't seem unreasonable if you break it down this way:

Tour: $15
Front of Line Passes for DLRR, HM, IASWH: $5
Holiday Snack and Drink: $10
VIP Parade Seating: $15
Pin/Gift: $5

When you break it down that way, it seems like a pretty deal, IMO!

I love this! What a great way to justify the cost! Hmmm... I'll have to tell my DH about how reasonable the cost of the tour is. Isn't it great how we are all such good enablers when it comes to our Disney obsession?

I also got a call that our tour time has been changed from 4:15 to 3:00 (on Nov. 30th). This tour is one of the things for our vacation that I'm most excited about! Can't wait!!!

This thread has gotten me all excited...and I'm thinking of booking this tomorrow...I know it's non-refundable, but what happens in the event of rain? ...and/or the parade is cancelled...? We want to do it Dec. 18th. Appreciate any info...thx.

Does any one know if there is a cast member discount available on this tour?

The main reason we did this tour the first time is pretty funny. Three years ago, I sat on the cold concrete for an hour and a half to get a good view for my fam. DH saw a group of people rush in and grab front row seats with cocoa and snacks. He asked "Who are they and how did they get there?" Last year as he sat in his nice seat with hot cocoa he said "We are they!"

I just booked the tour for the 4:15 time too on November 13th. I think this is the best time because everything will be lit up. I am super excited!! It's the first night of the tour and kind of the Christmas decoration kickoff,We have a 7,5 and 2 year old so will probably be out for the Haunted Mansion part with at least one of them but getting seats for the parade and seeing IASW will be worth it!! They will love the hot cocoa and treats too!

Well, they promise to make it up to you, but they're a bit vague on how that is accomplished. It may be a refund, but it may be a substitution, from what I understand. I think it's *likely* they'd just refund your money, but I believe they have the option to give you something else instead. They tell you all of that when you make the reservation but it kind of flew by me quickly and in my excitement I didn't really care .

You might have to call and ask. They don't list cast member discounts that I'm aware of so unless a cast member reads this and responds, you probably won't find out here.

I can't wait I asked the guy how many people could be in the tour, but he said he didn't have that information--only could see how many spots were left (but didn't tell me how many) Anyone know how many people are in a tour? seems like I read somewhere that it was around 45? Just curious.

there are multiple groups, I think the total for all groups is 45.

I got a call yesterday moving up my time from 1 to 3 pm. She said they had changed many of the times yesterday to work better with the parade schedule. It was a relief to me since I thought 1 was way too early when the only parade on the schedule was at 5:30. I love that they called me before I could call them and check it out.

I see what you mean...however I'm going the day after Thanksgiving and there are TWO parades scheduled that day (now 2:30 & 5:30pm)...I didn't want to do the early tour (rather it was at 10am or 1pm) because I want to spend the morning going on rides, taking pictures and just enjoying the park in its Holiday mode...with the time changes, things still worked out fine....I'll go on rides in the morning, lunch at 1pm at Cafe Orleans, then shopping, the tour at 3pm, the parade at 5:30, more rides, have dinner somewhere and then fireworks at 9:25pm...WOW!!...that's gonna be one BUSY day @ DL!!!...I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Oh, too bad you're not going the 21st! We'll be going on the 4:15 tour Sat. and we're staying at GCH too (concierge, not villas). I'd love to hear how you like the villas after your trip!
