You may want to check out the official Disneyland holiday page
http://disneyland.disney.go.com/dis...holidays/detail?name=HolidaysSpecialEventPage
It will definitely get you in the mood and excited for all of the fun! Ho! Ho! Ho!(finally got to use the Santa emoticon!)
The DLR website is always great to build anticipation for the holidays - whatever holiday it may be! You know what I also like to do, either during long stretches of time in between DLR visits or to get myself really excited for a trip, is to watch as many Disney TV specials (either about DLR or WDW) as I have time for. There are some specific holiday specials - "Holidays at WDW" with Raven, which airs on the Food Network every year, and "Disney Holiday Magic with Samantha Brown," which airs on the Travel Channel. In the Samantha Brown special, she covers WDW as well as DLR holiday activities, but the Raven special is cool because it focuses on a lot of the edible holiday decorations and displays at every WDW hotel, and some of them are SO elaborate and ornate. Just beautiful! That is one area where DLR is lacking. While we do have the HMH and the IASW rides at DLR, WDW has the spectacular edible holiday displays at every hotel. It seems like DLR could stick a display in each of the hotels - especially the GCH, since the lobby is so spacious - but we get ignored!

And then, during the rest of the year, every once in a while I like to watch one of the many other WDW specials from Food Network or Travel Channel. Food Network has "Into the Fire," which features segments on different DLR restaurants and how certain food items are made. Of course, there is also "Unwrapped: WDW" and "Behind the Bash" (WDW), and the many other competition shows where pastry chefs are making Pixar cakes or villains cakes. Over on Travel Channel, they have all sorts of WDW shows, ranging from "Disney on a Dime" to "Disney Splurge," and everything in between. They have shows on Animal Kingdom and on specifically on some of the WDW hotels (I think those shows are called "Great Hotels"). Those programs are definitely good to fill in the gaps when you don't have a trip planned for a long time - or to get amped up when you DO have a trip in the works! I have them all saved on this stupid DVR that my cable/Internet company gave me and it needs to be replaced. It acts up constantly. The trouble is, I am afraid to have the DVR replaced because I will lose all my Disney shows!!!!
