Holiday showdown

These sort of programmes are not there to show the good side of either the holidays or the people.
They deliberatly find the most incompatable families so they can have showdows and feed todays society with so-called "entertainment"

You had two families, both very similar with head of the families who ruled, one a wannabe Officer (never made it in either the Army or the Fire brigade, AAC! poor mans RAF) who could only "rule" his household. The telling comment was "I wanted to go to the fire station, tough on the children" and followed up by "Should we have this discussion in front of the children"

and

A Chavvy family with more disposable income than sense, (Decking, hot tub and conservatory) with a head who expected the little wife to run around after him.
The pair of them swearing in front of the children just about summed them up.

Neither was going to be happy, which is exactly what the producers wanted.
Are you telling me the only food available in WDW is Hot dogs? of course not, A whole day from 6am without any food whatsoever? Ridiculous.

As for the love affair, this was never going to work, one because of the distance (too far without a car) and two, the parents would have put a lot of pressure on the two of them, not worth the hassle to a boy with raging hormones.

Spot on post. Don't know if it was just myself who thought this, but for a Disney "Veteran" he did seem to get a little over excited with the villa. I'm wondering if they had ever been before.

i said the same thing to my sister the way they ran through the villa on arrival i don't think that they have stayed in that type of accomodation before.
And also when he arrived at the place they were staying at first they said what no maid's,having to cook yourself and no one to carry your bags i didn't see any of that at the villa they stayed at!!:confused3
And at the very begining when you saw clips of the two family's i thought the dad of the extreme family was at the pirate and princess party when i saw him with the bandana on and the moustache till i saw that is what he looks like everyday:rotfl2:

I can't believe I forgot to watch this

Well what a waste of an hour.
They didnt show Florida/Disney for what it actually is! I cant believe they wasted all morning in bed when if it was us we'd be out and about by 7am/8am some mornings.
I thought it was a load of tosh tbh.

I have to admit for feeling sorry for the young girl at the end!

To be honest, I always enjoy exploring a new villa when I go to stay in one... I thought that one looked like quite a nice one.

That is a very good point! Although I don't think that they cooked for themselves much at the villa. Maybe they normally stay in hotels. They could have stayed in a nice deluxe Disney hotel for the programme, but I guess that maybe either Disney wasn't keen OR it didn't suit the prigramme makers purposes (i.e. Mrs Kerr couldn't have cleaned the whole hotel as a "punishment").

It didn't protray the best of Disney at all - I am sure that they could do the same with Las Vegas (i.e. focus on the cheap, tacky, seedy part and not the classy, fun bit and the nice food).

I agree ! the programme did not do any justice to the magic, romance and amazing entertainment that you get at disney! a real shame IMO:mad:

The Jones were amateurs!

don't like skiing either ! slovenia is off the list of ' to do' places as well!

I only caught a few minutes of it but couldn't watch as the families were just too unnattractive for my living room! :lmao:

Seriously, I switched on for the WDW section but just didn't recognise the portrayal of my Happiest Place on Earth so turned off. :sad2:

watched the programme this evening :happytv: thought the jones were narrow minded they had no intention of enjoying the holiday:sad1: The best part of the programme was reading the post on the disboard afterwards:rotfl2: The end was cut off so didnt see what happened to the budding romance:love: We are sad and also know where the fire stations are and have them on video.

Hi I didn't see this prog, I've only watched one before and it was because a woman from our village was on it about 12-18 months ago, we know she's a complete attention seeking pyscho but she came across even worse on the tv!!! It was the kids I felt sorry for, I can't even remember where the holidays were, but she was def chosen for the confrontation aspect.

Why would you put yourself through it????!!!

Lynn
