Hi all,

We're heading down for a short trip in early December, and it's been awhiile since I've been at Christmas season. I have three questions:

1. If we don't do the dinner package for the Candlelight Processional , do we need to buy tickets? If so, how much are they, and where do I get them?

2. I think there is a discount on MVMCP if I purchase in advance, but I can't remember if it's DVC or Annual Pass (I have both) - does anyone know?

3. We've never seen the Osborne lights as they were closed last time we were there - where is that at MGM, are there long lines (and I assume it's something you want to see after dark, right)?

Thanks for any and all information!

1. There are no tickets for Candlelight Processional. It is free. The dinner packages get you a guaranteed seat. There is a separate line for those who do not have a dinner package seat. This line tends to be very long (at least when I have been there). Maybe others can post on which performances would offer the best chance for getting a non-reserved seat.

2. Here is info from Mousesavers website. The advance ticket price is for anyone. The AP and DVC price is only for a few dates:
"Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2006 will be offered on November 13, 17, 27, 28, and 30, and December 1, 4, 5, 7, 8, 11, 12, 14, 15, 18, 19, 21 and 22, from 7:00 pm to midnight.

Advance purchase tickets are $42.55 per adult, 10 and up (tax included) and $34.30 per child, ages 3 - 9 (tax included) for all November dates and for December 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, and 14.

For December 1, 8, 15, 18, 19, 21 and 22, and day-of-event tickets (if the date was not sold out in advance) the prices are $48.94 per adult, 10 and up (tax included), $40.12 per child, ages 3 - 9 (tax included).

Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members receive a 10% discount on November 13, 17, and 28 and December 14 (tickets held at will call and will require a valid ID)."

3. Osborne Lights are on the buildings back near the new car stunt show attraction. It is a very popular event so expect big crowds. There tends to be a crush of people when it first opens each night, so you might want to avoid the first ½ hour or so if the elbow-to-elbow mass-movement bothers you. It is not to be missed, IMHO.

This time of year is great to be there.

I had questions about the CP also. I have heard that the lines can be rather long. We are planning on going Dec. 7. We have 3 small children (7,5,3). I was considering doing the Dining Package to avoid the line wait.

My questions:

1. We want to see the fireworks at 9:30, so should we go to the 6:45 or 8:15 CP?

2. What time should we schedule our dinner? (I am thinking about going to the Garden Grill since it is a Character meal - the kids will enjoy that. So, it will be a bit of a "trek" over to the theater for the CP)

When you call to make your CP reservations, they will tell you what time you will be attending the CP depending on your reservation time. Let them know about the kids. Depending on what day you attend, you need to get in line no later than 45 minutes ahead of time, even with the dining package, if you want to get a good seat.

Either will work out just fine. The CP is about 40-45 minutes long, so even if you choose the later time, you should have enough time to find a spot for IllumiNations. The "Holiday Tag" that they do at the end of IllumiNations is very loud (you will definitely feel the vibrations) Just an FYI in case your children don't like loud fireworks.

If you want more info on the lunch/dinner time possibilities for each show, check out the DIS info on the CP:

Candlelight Processional

Best wishes -

Thank you for the info. I was able to book a 5:10 at Garden Grill with an 8:15 CP. This will work fine. After an afternoon nap, we will have plenty of time for our meal and then we can take our time and explore on our walk to the theater.

We have not been to WDW during Christmas yet. What is the Candelight Processional?

I would definitely see the Osborne Lights. It is a must see in my opinion. If you do the 8:15 show for the candlelight processional you will not have much of a wait for illuminations. And being on that side of the world showcase you should find a good viewing area.

Thanks everyone - just the information I was looking for - what a great resource this is, whether I'm on it daily right before a trip , or months apart between trips :)
