Names are out. :tink:

Please pick up your names through the PM so I can tell everyone has received theirs.

Mail by day is Dec. 1. Please get them out in time so every one can enjoy them for the holidays.
This time since holidays are fast approaching, I am requesting that all packages be mailed priority mail....flat rate boxes are great!! ::yes::

Post here when you mail out and when you receive. We want to hear!! :santa:

Have fun and happy shopping :woohoo:

Thanks for sending the name. I was just up at my parents and we did some shopping for my Mum's parcel!

I've shopped today and plan to mail tomorrow.

I had so much fun shopping yesterday. Then today I stopped to pick up a flat rate priority box for it all to fit into. Next I need to nail down some bubble wrap or other good padding materials. Hope to get it to the P.O. on Wed. but it might turn out to be Friday. :yay:

Picked up my name today and also got my package in the mail. Hopefully it should arrive by Friday.

Nancy, Hope you had a great vacation. Mine was wonderful, but I had to come home to 20 degree weather
Jenny

All names are now picked up  Can't wait for the start of arrivals :hyper:

Jenny.....had a great vacation. The last few days were a bit cold.
Here, we are having high 40s and high 30s at night. I go to AZ for Christmas....can't wait!!
Glad you had a good vacation too ::yes::

My package was dropped off today.

I want to warn everyone about the cost of sending items to the UK via air mail......I was told by the postal clerk my box would be $40.50!!!! When I asked if there was a "cheaper" way to go she said that was the least expensive.:scared1:

That will be it for my international exchanges I'm afraid.

::yes:: Sad isn't it. That's why we have so few people volunteering to mail internationally.
You can use the flat rate boxes for those too.....not sure what the cost is though.

My package has begun its journey.. :drive:

$40.50?!?! :scared1: I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have shipped! That is just cost-prohibitive, imho. :sad2: YIKES!

I'm grateful that Maria sent. She was the only one that volunteered to send internationally this time

I do it once in a while, but can't do it too often.
We just need to take turns maybe ??? or we are going to have to leave our internation friends out.
Also if more than one sign up, I have them send to each other, if there is no one from here willing to do it.
some exchanges are easier than others.....like pins :rotfl: They are cheap to send, so we always have plenty of volunteers for that one....thank you all ::yes::

Was that postage for surface mail or air mail to Great Britain? Perhaps it's changed but I've always had the option of sending my packages to G.B. by air or surface mail. I know it sometimes took 6-8 weeks for surface mail to arrive, but it was so economical compared to the postage charged for sending it by air. Because I'm never ready to mail out Christmas presents to our British friends by Halloween, I do use air mail to send my packages to England and Wales but never send anything heavy for Christmas anymore. I search for really lightweight gifts and the postage is still usually close to $10-12 for each package I send. I'd hate to see our international friends excluded from the Exchanges due to exhorbitant mailing fees, but I can understand why people don't want to spend $30-40 for postage. What a dilemma!

Air is the only way to go now.
Surface is no longer offered.

We always want air for exchanges anyway, otherwise it takes too long.

I am off to send out a small package to Australia today.....we'll see what the damage is. But I too, try to find those light weight gifts now.
