Hi

Has anyone had a good deal on holiday insurance? We are due to go on the 22nd Aug but I want to leave it as late as possible and get an annual deal so I can use it next year as well. :earsboy:

forgot to say, that you can buy your insurance anytime and it wont be activated until the day of your travel, i always have mine start the day before we travel, just incase something unexpected happens, then we are covered.

We use direct-travel too. They were recommended as one of the best by one of those newspaper reports that analyses various different companies. I've found their rates very competitive and have had no problems adding people on and renewing every year. They seem to be very efficient. (Now I wish I was on commission!!! :rotfl: )

Just a quick point to make, as Netty says you can choose the start date of an annual insurance, but it does not cover you until that date so if you start your insurance a day prior to leaving you are not covered for instance if someone breaks their leg 3 weeks prior to travel and cannot go!

We use M&S which offers great levels of cover and paid up, when we needed to claim, almost by return of post last year :goodvibes
They're not the cheapest but I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for ;)

I used money supermarket. com. Just key in your details and it will find you a range of deals. I got 2 weeks USA cover for a family of 4 with all the main key areas covered to same standard as TCD insurance for £42 in total. TCD price would have been £149.

Hi Mark

We also use M & S because there is no excess to pay, and it doesn't seem to cost that much extra. (I learnt the hard way after a trip to the doctors on last year's trip! I will always go for cover with no excess from now on!)

Have a great trip!

I applied for the insurance from travel insurance web. If you read the small print, you are not covered for hurricans or tropical storms.

Does anyone out there have any insurance that does cover. We will be going in hurrican season.

Imagin, if you got hurt in a hurrican, you wouldn't be covered with travel web.

We use a company called Fortis for our annual holiday insurance. We have claimed way over half a million dollars with this comapany before and they never argued a thing. For a 2 adults and 4 children (1 with a heart condition) it cost us £134. I would highly reccomend them :)
