Being a former hotel employee (in Philadelphia) I can tell you that a lot of the hotel parking is owned and/or managed by a seperate company. I agree, I wish they would roll it into one especially on the per night resort fees. Most of us have cells and don't need the "free" local calls and the other little things you get for the fee. Just add it into my room rate since I don't have a choice about paying it! As a little sidenote: When I worked at a hotel in center city Philly, as an employee, I received the employee discount on parking....$8 per day or $150 per month. And yes, this was to park at the hotel that I worked at! And yes, the hotel did not own the parking garage at the hotel. This was a few years ago so I am sure the rates have went up. I just stayed at a hotel in Philly over last weekend and the parking rate was $32 per night.
