Can anyone give me any info on the Holiday Inn near Universal? We are staying there Aug 3 - 6.

On the good side, it is right across the street from the parking garage, and there is a TGIF in the parking lot. Reviews on the hotel are mixed. Some have good stays, others not so lucky.

We stayed there a couple of years ago. Like another poster said, it's on the back side of Universal, across from the parking garages. I don't know if things have changed but the hotel was a little run down. Carpet and wall paper could have used some updating. The rooms were a good size. The first room we were given had a lot of mold in the bathroom - on the shower curtain, in the grout and even on the ceiling. I called the front desk to ask for some bleach cleaner but instead they moved us to another room. The second room was fine. I wouldn't pay rack rate but if I found a good discount, I think we would stay here again. The staff was very friendly which was a plus and having the restaurant on sight (TGI Friday's I think) was great.

We stayed there in 2003 and really enjoyed it. It wasn't a resort or anything but we did't want to pay resort prices either!
We stayed in one of the suites for 5 nights at $90 a night. There was two double beds in one room with a connectiong door to the other room which had a full kitchen and a sofa bed.
The pool was always clean and heated.
Our rooms were cleaned every day.
They offered free shuttles to the park.
Kids ate free witha paying adult at Fridays.
Next time we go to Universal we will definately stay here.
