We have some Holiday Inn Priority CLub points and need four nights in Orlando. DH wants to use our points. What hotel would you recommend for a family of five - with DD15, DS13 and DS9 within the Holiday Inn system. Right now I am leaning towards the Orange Lake Resort with the Holiday Inn Club Vacations just because we would have more room.
Thanks all. Calena

I have been researching this one. It looks great to me. We have points we used to.Here are some of the pro and cons.IMO

Here is what I have come up with this one.
West Villiage or River Island are the best rooms.
It isn't a resort where you have maid service. You also only get enough staples to start.(you have to bring paper product s and stuff like that)Target next door
No towel service, but you have a washer and dryer in the room (thats a plus for me)
It is a no cash resort. so either charge to the room,or credit card or you can buy gift cards.
Lazy river floats cost $9 perperson to rent no sharing.
You can't walk every where in resort way to big.

If you choose that, please let us know what you thought of it. I have heard many good things about the resort - just haven't had a chance to stay there yet. Maybe next time...

My family, me, DH, DS17 & DD14 stayed at Orange Lake West Village last summer. It was beautiful. There are shuttle buses to get around the resort, but I recommend a car. Our unit was beautiful. Newly renovated. I did request a renovated unit.
The pools are all beautiful. We never rented a tube because they were always plenty of abandoned ones floating in the river or off to the side.
The lake has some watersports too.
Everyone loved this resort. It was easy access to Disney and to the toll road to universal and the airport It is also out of the way of the traffic I-92 nightmare. There is a publix a one end of the resort and a Target across the street. We found the publix to be less expensive and more user friendly. Restaurants are plentiful up the street about a mile or two.
We will go there again. Ours was a timeshare trade and the rule is one visit every four years. But we do have priority points as well and could go sooner with those.
Don't forget about the anyhotel anywhere card they offer. You can use your points and get a card. We have stayed in Disney Hotels with that card 3 times.

Hi can I ask what is this card you are referring to? We are Priority Club members but I don't know about this any hotel any where card that can be used for Disney Hotels. Thank you so much!

Check their online rewards site Priority Club. They have a listing of all the rewards and one of the categories is the Any hotel/Anywhere card. It is a great way to stay at non-Holiday Inn hotels for less money or for free if you have enough points. You get a card like a amex gift card for a certain amount of money. We always get the $250.00 one. They start at $100 for 29,000 points. Other than Disney visa rewards points, it's the best deal. We have used both and stay at Coronado for 5 days.

Good luck and let me know if you have anymore questions.
