I have stayed at this hotel on 3 separate trips for a total of 14 nights all together. I think it is a very nice choice.
The ART does pick up at this hotel and it costs $4 per day for the shuttle. You do pick up the ART on the Harbor Blvd. side of
Disneyland.
Out of all of my stays, I only chose to take ART once. The other times we walked to and from the park. It took us 15-20 minutes to walk to the gates with our 3 children (6 year old walked and the 3 & 1 year olds in a double stroller).
You can cut the amount of walking down by hopping on the tram at the Mickey and Friends parking structure. You basically get a ride to skip walking through Downtown Disney. We only did this a few times because I think the Disney atmosphere begins in Downtown Disney and I love to window shop or pick up some breakfast at Jamba Juice or Jazz Kitchen Express.
The hotel is great. The beds and pillows are super comfortable. I have always gotten the hotel through hotwire.com, and it has been a great deal -- even with the extra $11 per night for resort fee/parking fee.
We have never tried their restaurant, but restaurant.com has a gift certificate on their website that you can pick up with a 70-80% off code and I know that kids eat free at breakfast.
The pool is small, but nice. I have no real complaints about that. Oh, and there has always been plenty of parking-- we have never had a problem finding a spot. They do not have a fridge or microwave in the room. We always just bring a cooler and keep it stocked with ice from their ice machines.
