Hi everyone,

Search is down so I've got to ask the question here. I looked at Hotwire.com and there is an offer for this hotel for $22 per nite. Now I'm at another crossroad - the cost for 7 nites would be less than $200.00!!! I've read mixed reviews about this hotel. There would be 3 of us traveling (dh, dd (2) and me). We probably will not be spending much time in the hotel. These are the things that are important to me 1) clean 2)quiet 3)near disney 4)fridge in room 5)decent pool and play area. I know that this is a no frills type of hotel and now that we've decided to stay off-site I realize we won't be getting Disney type treatment, but is this hotel ok for a 7 night stay? I figure that we can splurge and go to Discovery Cove if we stay in this hotel but I don't want to be miserable with a bad hotel. Any advice --- please

I just got the Holiday Inn, Nikki Bird on Priceline, too. I've been having qualms as well, but after reading the recent reviews on Travelocity I'm feeling a little better about staying there. But I'm only staying three nights at Nikki Bird and then switching to Cypress Pointe for three nights, so if it isn't great, I do have something to look forward to! I'd probably be more nervous is it was for an entire week. But you know, it seems like even some of the "better" hotels and resorts get mixed reviews, too, so I think you have to take them with a grain of salt. Good luck!

It is near Disney, just 5 minutes from the Animal Kingdom via Sherberth off route 192.
There is a refrigerator in the room.
As to clean and quiet, that depends on the room you are assigned and the staff on duty at the time you are there.
There is an outdoor playground near the pool. The pool is decent.

I doubt that you will have a bad time there. Your priceline price of $22 a night is excellent and will allow you to go to Discovery Cove, won't it?

Just go with positive thoughts and enjoy the trip.

My mom got the bright idea to check the 2004 unofficial guide, it gave the Nikki Bird an 80 out of 100. That is pretty good I think. I have reservations there for 4-25 to 4-30. I was planning on canceling them but now I am thinking that we may keep them. It cant be so bad if it got an 80 from the Unofficial Guide, they can be pretty hard on the hotels.princess:

We enjoyed our stay at the Nikki Bird in 1998 and have been back since for the Lobster buffet. There's no way you can loose at 22 a night. We were planning to stay there for 53.00 a night in April but found a good price on Cypress Pointe and decided to try it. I've also stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunspree (which was more expensive) and like the Nikki Bird better. ENJOY!
