Hi

I'm from the UK and am thinking of booking the Holiday Inn International Drive through Virgin, has anyone stayed here? I would really appreciate some advice especially on the buses to the parks ie are they reliable. I don't fancy driving and previosuly we have stayed in the Howard Johnson Gateway Inn on Kirkman Road, which always has been a rat hole but had good buses! This time around I have read too much negative feedback here on the boards about the Howard Johnson so thought we best try something new, I know most Holiday Inn's are pretty standard accomodation wise but the transport really is a major concern.

As always I would REALLY appreciate some help!!!!!

Cheers - Vikki

We are staying there next June for the first time.

I have read several reports from people and most are very good.

We will have a car but will be relying on the transportation to get us to Universal (unless we fancy a stroll) and also Seaworld. I read a report somewhere from one person who had used the transportation and thought it was a good service but I cannot comment on it myself.

Most people say to ask for a Tower Room as they are meant to be nicer but I have also read a couple of reports where people have said the opposite. I guess it's just a case of personal taste and I have decided to wait and see what we end up with.

Holiday Inn I-Drive is a good hotel. We're staying for our second time next month. Good pool and shop. Did not try the restaurants because they looked pretty basic and there are such a lot of places nearby anyway. The Tower rooms are definitely superior, we were allocated a pool room when we first arrived but got moved immediately as it certainly wasn't up to standard, but the Tower room was large with good furnishings. I would definitely request a Tower room on your booking form. Don't know about transport because we always drive but the I-Drive trolley stops outside if that is any help.

Hi Vikki - we stayed there in January and found it excellent.

We had a Tower room as I had seen on here that you had more space - just requested it when we checked in, but I would probably email them to confirm this next time.

We also used the restaurant a few times and found it excellent - very good for us as our children, both under 12 ate free.

The room had coffee making facilites, microwave, fridge, ironing board, hairdryer, free safe and papers. Also daily maid service.

We were without a car and used their shuttle to WDW and found this very good as well.

We will be booking here again for our next visit.:)

Guys

Thanx for all your help and advice, I think I shall go for it now! As ever these boards have proved very useful indeed, if only the rest of life were this simple.

Cheers - Vikki

Vikki- when are you thinking of going - we booked the flights and hotel separately, but through a travel agent and saved £££££ on Virgins price last year.

just a thought:D
