Has anyone stayed at this hotel? I know that it was renovated earlier this year. I believe it is close the Mickey and Friends parking garage. How far of a walk is it to the garage to catch the tram and to the entrace of DL? It is located on walnut street

Thanks
Ashley

I don't know if its the same one or not but I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express (has Suites) and it is great. I love the breakfast and its about a 10 minute walk. Its on Katella and Harbor right by all the new dining, etc but I forgot what that is called.

Edit: I looked at a map and noticed the one you're asking about is on the other side of the park. I haven't stayed there...

We have always stayed there. The last two times we stayed at the Grand Californian...guess what?

I missed the Holiday Inn on South Walnut.

Ooh I was just looking at this hotel online :goodvibes it looks very nice:)
I would like to know also how far is the walk? Or can you grab the tram in?
I was thinking I might switch from Candy Cane at Christmas to this hotel ? :confused3
They have a pretty good entertainment rate too, but then noticed they have a 10$ a day parking fee a 11.50 a day service fee? IDK what that's for? And the regular 15% tax on top of that. So it comes out 5$ cheaper than CCI. Not sure if it's worth it, unless it's a good walk :confused3
but I like to try out new hotels :)

If it is the one I'm thinking of, I wouldn't stay there. I stayed there 3 years ago, yes it was before renovations but here is my big complaints:

1. it claimed to be next to disneyland, it's next to the parking garage which you have to completely walk around. It's decieveing, it is really far away. I had 3 kids, 9, 7, and 3 and the walk was miserable.

2. No free breakfast, and even with kids eat free it was slow and expensive.

3. We used the Art, and it was a terrible route from this hotel. It was never on time, and one night we sat at the front entrance of disney waiting to go home and we saw shuttle after shuttle go by and ours was the slowest and the worst! The driver simply claimed he had a bad route. Who knows.

4. We drove one day and parked in the nearest parking lot and it was still a huge walk to get to the parks.

Never again. I'll stay at the resort, or on Harbor, or at a hotel with it's own private shuttle.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn and Suites last October, during the renovation. The room I had had not yet been renovated, but it was still a great room. I would not suggest walking to the Disneyland parking lot to get to the tram, only because I feel it's a dangerous walk, especially at night. The walk itself is approximately a mile long. I drove to the parking garage each day and while it was a bit of a hassle it worked out fine.

I have stayed there before the renovations and after. I got it on hotwire both times for about $56 a night. I didn't care for it because it didnt have a full time restaraunt, it was (only open for breakfest). I walked one time to DTD and wouldn't want to do it again. it was a long walk. We did use ART and never had a problem. Picked us right up in front. The rooms were nice. It was clean.

We stayed there a few years ago, at the time everyone got a free breakfast in their dining room, which was good and hot.

The walk IS NOT close. I don't recall seeing the parking structure, we ended up walking through DTD each time. It was nice but the walk was too far for us. I liked the Hilton Suites a lot better. It is way too far to walk though, you would have to use ART.

I booked a room on Pricline (name your own price) & got HI & Suites on Manchester St aprox 2.7 miles from Dismey. It was really nice especially since I only paid $42 =)

I would suggest looking into the Candy Cane Inn and Suites - it is close enough to walk or they provide a shuttle. Breakfast is included and they don't charge for parking. Hotels on the side of the Mickey parking structure are often difficult to walk to the park from - we tried once - never again (have tried many of the hotels on and off property)

I love the HI & Suites on S. Manchester. This will be my 4th time staying there. (Name your own bid, $39. a night. each time. :cool1:)

It’s not close to walk, but the ART picks you up right in front. It’s very clean. Nice big pool and spa. The restaurant has really good food. The bar has amazing happy hour.:drinking1 I really like it.
I will be going there this Sunday for my birthday!

Sorry for being :offtopic:
