Quickly.... dash over to the "Orlando Hotels and Resorts" board.... there has been a lot of talk about this place on a thread entitled "Best and Worst...." I believe. Some folks swear by this place and others.... well... just go read for yourself!...........P

I stayed there the year they opened, WONDERFUL stay! We stayed in a VERY cold January so we didn't use the pool area, though I've heard the zero entry is nice. I loved having three sleep areas and THREE TVs since we stayed in one day and all of us had a place to cool out.

We stayed here in December 2001, so it has been awhile ago. We enjoyed our stay, the rooms are nice and clean. You cannot beat the free breakfast and kids eating free at dinner. The nightime restaurant stays open late, so it was open upon returning from the parks. The only downside is location and transportation. I really like being able to get a bus or boat when I want to go. I believe for the money we got a good deal and would not hesitate to stay here, but then we found the Dolphin... location location location... :)

We stayed there last Sept. We loved it, my DS really liked the pool, he was able to just walk in, he was almost 4 at the time. I liked having the 3 separate areas, & 3 TV. My DS also liked the train ride around the building. I was also worried about some of the things I read before we left. But, our room was always clean, everyone was very nice, we never got sick from being in the pool, and we were in it everyday. The breakfast was OK, my DH is a big breakfast person & he found everything he likes. Also kids eat free, which was nice at dinner. My DS could take from the buffet or he could order something. At the time we paid $73 per night with the entertainment book, which I though was great.

Not sure when you are planning your trip, but be aware the entertainment discount, free breakfast and other perks will be gone in January as they become a Nick Hotel.

We stayed at HIFS 2 times and throughly enjoyed both trips! :)

this makes me happy to read, this is were we will be staying next week. I think we got a good deal, we got a family suite for $74 a night, I called there, when we made our ressie, online were quoting alot more

Kristen,

If I remember correctly some of your other posts refer to HI main gate east. That is a TOTALLY different hotel.

HIFS is in lake buena vista.

Just wanted to let you know in case you've been researching the wrong place all this time.
