Taking 1 (maybe 2) night trip with son (7). These are the only choices right now (loooong story). My husband says to stay at whichever one is going to be safer?? Anybody out there have experience with both, which would be safer - walking the 10/15 min walk or taking the ART system? Not sure what kind of neighborhood the Holiday Inn is in.

Thanks!! :)

Which Holiday Inn is it? I think there are a few in the area.

Either way I'd probably pick HoJo's. Were staying there for the first time in June, but we've stayed in that area a lot and we feel safe.

Personally, I'd go for HoJo. They are right across the street and you can walk or take the ART -- either one would be pretty safe.

Sorry, it's the Holiday Inn Anaheim "Resort" . I already have one night there through priceline and I need another night. I'm going with a friend. We tried to get the same hotel and got put different places. Anyway, my husband thinks I should stay at the Howard Johnson for both nights because he knows it and is more comfortable with me staying there. If I do that, I will of course be out the cost of one night at the Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort..... I thought maybe someone who was familiar with both could give their opinion on each??? Right now DH is really not happy that I'm going and not at the same resort as my friend. Just trying to get more information from all the DIS experts.

What's the address of the Holiday Inn? As was said above there are many in the area and I can't think of one I'd call a "resort".

It's:

Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort
1915 South Manchester Avenue
Anaheim, CA 92802

THANKS!! :)

Ahh... that comes up on Google as "Holiday Inn Anaheim-Resort Area". That section of Manchester is kind of off the beaten path for me, but I'm thinking it's safe enough for the one night. The aerial view makes it seem like the hotel is fairly isolated. I'd suggest going for HoJo's the other nights - you'll be in the thick of the "resort area" and not far away from it like this particular Holiday Inn.
