Holiday Destination Recommendation?

Hi.. I am planning a short break in October on a budget and I wondering if anyone could recommend a nice quiet family resort. Would like some where warm, with a nice beach and some quiet restaurants..no noisy bars, club etc..

Thinking of so far Algarve, Greece and Cyprus. I don't know anything about the places and I am just really worried about booking some where like on the holidays from hell programs so any help would be appreciated. I have a dd who is 4.

How about Playa Blanca in Lanzarote. Its a pretty resort, not too big or brash. There is a lovely walkway along the coast with lots of nice places to eat and because there is no road its safe too. The weather would be great in October.

We stayed at the Lanzarote princess, it was in a great position and had a nice pool, i'm sure they have childrens entertainment. I think it is part of the H10 hotel chain, we have stayed at a few of these hotels and they have always been good.

OK, theres pros and cons with each of those holiday resorts..
Algarve, all weather in october in the med is hit and miss, just like at home, it can be freakishly hot until much later, it can also get extremely cold.
The Algarve will suffer if its cold and the sea being the atlantic will be darn chilly even if the weathers hot.
having said that there are lovely towns and resorts to wander around and villamoura especially has a lovely sophisticated feel, lots of gin palace yacht types.

cyprus is lovely, the best beaches are unfortunately around the ayia napa end but protaras is nice too, its not really big clubbing season so it shouldn't be too rowdy. if you fly into the paphos end there are some fabulous hotels around there. the rosorts of Polis and Latchi are very nice and quiet, pretty good beaches too. cyprus will almost be safer for weather than the Algarve.

Greece is lovely and can be much cheaper than the other two but for some strange reason the Greeks shut down at the end of october (the end of their season) I've lost count of the number of clients who have been in october half term and have had wonderful weather but have found half the restaurants closed!

October is the issue, it cuts down options, I would suggest Greece, Rhodes, Corfu and Zante Majorca, but they are best in spring and summer. Cyprus is most likly best in October.

Would recommend Cyprus for October. We have been in April - similar weather- nice for sunbathing but water was freezing.

Have never been to any Canaries but they would also be good weather wise in October.

You can get some extremely good deals to the Red Sea Resorts and the weather should still be okay - or maybe Dubai?
