I might be on the early end (I am among my neighbors and family) but I do mine the first weekend in December, tree included. I put up my Dept 56 holiday village right after Thanksgiving (takes a bit of time to design the "city"). I'll probably do my Halloween decorations 2 weeks prior to Halloween.
I was looking for this answer myself earlier on today because we are going next Thanksgiving (2005) and from the posts I've read, the decorations are up by Thanksgiving. Can anyone confirm?

I start with ours around the middle of November. I have two trees and a full time job, so it is time consuming. As for the outdoor lights, if I have a warm weekend early November I'll put them up but I don't turn them on until Thanksgiving week.

Always the 1st Sunday in December...Don`t know why, but since we got married & moved into our 1st home...(which was the 1st friday in Dec 1990) I have always done this...I guess it was because i wanted OUR house to look the "nicest" back then (how sad is that !!!)Tradition stuck i guess...
We went in 1998 from November 17th - 22nd, and we noticed they started going up in Epcot on 11/21. I don't recall seeing them anywhere else. Thanksgiving fell on November 26th that year.
This will give you an idea of their schedule. We went two years ago during Thanksgiving and it was a hoot to hear the Christmas music playing at the Polynesian. We actually knew which song was coming on next!! I think this year we'll go over there to see if they have a CD in their stores!!
My birthday is Dec. 2, so it was always a tradition when I was growing up that we put them up that day. Now as a busy mom of 3, I usually get the rest of the decorations out after Thanksgiving, but the tree still goes up on my birthday. It's too hard to do it ALL on that day!
I actually meant at WDW but I didn't make it real clear.
Ours, at home, go up the week of Thanksgiving. We've never been to WDW during the holidays but may have the opportunity to go during Thanksgiving week.
