Holiday decorations!!????

I have seen the schedule for the holiday decorations, but my question is, when do they take it all down? We are going down for a weekend in January, and wonder if it will all be gone by then?

Anybody have any ideas??

They start taking down some of the minor things in the resorts shortly after Christmas and before New Year's. The rest of the decorations start to come down on New Year's Day and are noticeably missing by the end of the week. I believe the parks stop lighting their trees on 12/31 but they may stay up for a few days longer.

We went for a 2 wk stay back in 2001 and went Jan.1 -15. The decorations were all up until Jan. 1 and then seem to be disapearing one park at a time and quite quickly. We stayed at BC and the big ginerbread carousel was up in the lobby on Jan. 1 and I wanted to get a picture and figured I'd get one the next day and it had been taken down in the middle of the night that same night -- sooo. After Jan.1 you may see some things still up but that seems to be the day they begin the dismantling process.

We were there in 99 from Jan 4- 10th or so. Everything was still xmas on the 4th, just no xmas parades, but they were taking lights down even as we were checking in. When we left you would have never known that xmas had ever exisited. We spent an hour one day watching them change the strung lights along the boardwalk from red and green back to white, odd I know, but it was actually rather fun. If you can be there for the transformation its pretty neat. We stood in line for one ride and were listening to xmas music, when we went back to it a few hours later it was the standard disney background music. It was almost like we had 2 vacations for the price of one.

January 2002 and 2003 many of the decorations in the parks and resorts were still up well past the 10th of the month, alhtough they were disappearing out of the parks pretty fast by around the 9th.
