We are going to be staying at the BWV from Jan 3 - Jan 15, here's my question... When do the Holiday decorations come down, both in the hotel & in the parks? The last time we were there during the holidays it was until Jan 6 & the decorations were still up everywhere & the parks had that same Loop of Christmas songs, which is great for the first 3 days but after that I want to go nuts!!:) I heard somewhere that like all things Disney it's magic!-- It happens over night, the decorations are there one day & gone the next- which I understand in the parks, but not really in the hotels.. either way... Anyone know when the decorations come down & the music goes back normal?

(P.S. a CM told us that her favorite time of year was the holidays for no other reason than the change of music & here I am complaining :) )

Thanks in advance for any help!! :)

They usually start pulling down the decorations starting Jan.2 and doing it slowly over the next week.

We were down at BC for the first 2 weeks of Jan. in 2001 and it is true that they begin taking the Christmas decorations down the first week of Jan. little by little. They seemed to do one park at time and one resort at a time and -- as the last poster said -- in the middle of the night! One day the BC was all decorated up and the next morning it was all gone! I just posted this for someone else who plans to go in Jan.

--- If you see any Christmas decoations that you want a picture of -- take the picture when you see it -- I saw the big ginerbread carousel in the BC lobby and wanted a picture of it and figured I'd take it later after we checked in and got settled -- we'll I figured I had all week and it was gone the very next day!! So take your pics as soon as you think to!

We left WDW on January 8th and the decorations, for the most part, were still up. They did start to take them down on the exterior of the BW around the 5th (we had a BW view and a cherry-picker showed up in front of our balcony one morning in order to take the Christmas bough & lights from the exterior of our balcony). When we left the CBR on the 8th, the holiday decorations were still up and the Christmas music was still playing. I was surprised at how long the decorations stayed up throughout WDW.
