Is it worth spending time walking around and looking at campers holiday decorations, or would are time be better spent at the parks?

It is SO worth it, the long term campers put out more decorations than you see at most peoples' homes.

We rented a gold cart for this purpose. But yes, it is well worth it. There are some great displays, and this comes from a well seasoned displayist at home.

IF you have an extra evening, the boat trip is about 20 minutes. Walk an hour or so stop by the tavern and preformed quality control, then hop back.

If you cramming 5 parks into 4 days, probably not, but then again, it is pretty awesome.

I think it all depends on what ya like, for us touring the Fort is a event in itself , :thumbsup2

Walking is the best way to see the decorations. The long term campers put in so much effort you really have to stand and watch and take it all in. There is SO much detail you will miss it if you ride by.

You'll do a LOT of walking if you want to really take it all in, but then again you can see quite a bit within a fairly short walk of the Settlement area.

I would suggest that a golf cart is the best way to see as many decorations as possible at a leisurely pace. Disney will rent you one for the day (regardless of how many hours you actually use it) - cost is about $65 and you should probably reserve ASAP as they tend to run out this time of year.

Have fun! :santa:

I agree with this.

Especially as it relates to the last two sites on the 700 loop. There is so much detail there that you really need to stop and stand and take it all in. And if you see campers on either of these sites, please be sure to wish them a Merry Christmas and give them a hello from TCD!

Also, right across the street from the 700 loop exit, there is a display in the back of a site on the 400 loop that is set up with paths on which you can walk around to view the decorations. This camper has set up his light display to "dance" to music, like the Osborne lights at Hollywood Studios. Not as large a display, obviously, but something very special nonetheless. You can't experience that from a golf cart. These sites are an easy walk from the Settlement bus stop or the marina.
