Last year MK was done by mid November and the Osbourne lights were up by the 14th. I'm sure it was nice to have the overnight transformation, we never got to go that time of year then and I think it's really nice for more to be able to enjoy the beauty of the holidays at Disney.
Even though now we've been there in December a couple times, last year when we went the week before Thanksgiving it was awesome being able to take part in the best of Fall with the end of the Food and Wine Festival and also the beginning of the Christmas holidays.
Also, in the 90's there was a huge amount of resorts and a big park added. Even though they may have "cut down" a little, I'm sure they've increased over all, and to transform ALL the resorts and ALL the parks with everything they do would be enormous and virtually impossible. When we left the week-end before Thanksgiving, ALL the things were not yet up, especially in the resorts. Since I've been there at Christmas, I know what was missing yet.
I know many complain about "early" decorations, but to me considering the enormity of the job, two or three weeks early to start is not unreasonable and I REALLY appreciated being able to enjoy the holiday atmosphere last year. People even think they shouldn't start the Osbourne lights in September, heck, with the enormity of THAT job, I'd be tempted to leave them up all year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And why should only "December" people be able to enjoy them!!!
