holiday decoration take down

Well at least the OP knows they will be able to see all the holiday stuff on the 1st and 2nd of January for sure... the 3rd if it pans out, which makes sense with it being New Years Day...will be a bonus!! :thumbsup2

Oh, really? I had no way of knowing!:rotfl2: When I go on to MouseSavers, I just read the info. I don't pay any attention to anyone's names or anything. But I do recall that somewhere on MouseSavers (and maybe someone else wrote it? Not sure?), it was mentioned that the e-mail was received (presumably the same one I got) and it mentioned the holiday dates.

Hmm, that doesn't sound like something I would write, and I write every word on my site. Are you sure you're not thinking of Deb Wills' site? Anyway, doesn't matter. I do get a lot of Disney emails and press releases that I use as resources. Unfortunately, apparently I didn't save whatever it was, and now I can't remember where I got that January 3 date.

So far, I'm not seeing anything on Disneyland News, on the DLR website itself (they don't even have the 1/2/11 date mentioned), on the Parks Blog or on D23 with any kinds of dates at all. The only thing I had to go on was that one lone e-mail from Disney Destinations/DNews. So if TDA has the dates set and the end date is, indeed, 1/3/11, I wish they would post it. I'm sure I'm not the only one who received that e-mail with the 1/2/11 date.

I've checked all the same Disney sources you did, and some others. There seems to be no officially published end date for HMH. I guess we'll find out soon enough. I'm sure Disney will be sending out a press release about the holidays fairly soon.

Well, the OP can count on January 1 and 2, at least. :)

Someone in our November Check-In thread mentioned seeing a blurb on MouseSavers about the e-mail from Disney Destinations (presumably the one I received), and it mentioned the holiday dates. Except it mentioned 11/12/10 - 1/3/11. At that point, I was mainly interested in the start date of the season and not the end date, so I didn't pay attention to the difference in what was in my e-mail from DD and what was printed on MouseSavers. At that point, I had received the e-mail a week or so before it was mentioned there, so I am wondering if Disney changed the date after they sent out the first wave of e-mails to show 1/3/11, and maybe that's what you got. Or was it a typo?

In any case, thus far, the only official Disney source that I have seen indicate dates for the holidays is the e-mail I received. If you hadn't said 1/3/11, I would have not seen that date mentioned anywhere, even though it kind of makes sense because some people will be off work that day. So I wish DLR would hurry and put the dates on the DLR website.

I'd be happy to forward the e-mail I received in July to anyone who is interested in seeing it.

ETA: On Page 11 of our November Check-In thread, Mariezp says:

I received my MouseSavers newletter this morning which confirmed a little reminder:

"For the past several years Walt Disney World and Disneyland ticket prices have gone up on the first Sunday in August. Now is the time to purchase tickets for upcoming trips!" So..... guess where I am off to next?

The newsletter also confirmed another topic we have discussed.
One of their members "recieved an e-mail from Disney Destinations that gives Disneyland's holiday season as between November 12, 2010 to January 3, 2011. Based on past years, you can expect performances of A Christmas Fantasy Parade and Believe in Holiday Magic Fireworks to begin on Friday, November 12."

So whomever it is that received that e-mail from Disney Destinations and posted about it on MouseSavers either received an e-mail that had a different date (1/3/11) than the one I received on 7/19 (which said 1/2/11), or they mistook the '2' for a '3.'

In any case, as you say, the OP has at least until January 2nd - at least that date we know is officially part of the season - whether it's the last day of the season or the next to last day!

Yeah, what's weird is that the first item quoted by Mariezp IS from my July 15 newsletter, but the second item definitely ISN'T from my newsletter or anything else I've ever written. I would know my own words and it's not my style of language. Also I don't publish stuff from "members" in my newsletter.

... So I just googled one of the phrases and sure enough, it came from another site entirely! No wonder I was confused.

http://www.mouseplanet.com/9331/Disneyland_Resort_Update#news5

And that site lists the end date as January 3 in its weekly DL update, I just discovered.

Anyway, I've changed the end date on my site to January 2. Better safe than sorry -- I would hate for someone to count on HMH being open on the 3rd. I can always change it later when we get official word.

Just wanted to say that I received yet another Disney Destinations/DNews e-mail (and, for anyone who isn't aware of those e-mails, Disney Destinations/DNews is an official Disney source, so it's not like an outside source - like the DISboards or MouseSavers or whatever - reporting on Disney stuff).

Anyway, in this e-mail, again it says:

11/12/10–1/2/11
Holidays at the Disneyland® Resort

Nothing about 1/3/11 being the end date of the season. So that's 2 times I've seen 1/2/11 mentioned as the end date from the same official Disney source.

Unless they put 1/3/11 up on one of their other sites like Disneyland.com, Disneyland News, D23 or Disney Parks Blog, then I'm still assuming the end date is 1/2/11. That's all I've seen so far that's official.
