Is missletoe poisonous?

Should it be kept out of reach from pets?

What makes them poison? It it the leaves or amybe an oil on the leaves like pioson ivy?

Pets can choke on Tinsel.

Trib - I think it is the oils becuase a few years back when I received a plant from someone they had mentioned to keep away from your pets because if they ingest it could poison them. 'Cause I know my cat loves to chew things!

Regarding the tinsel - It's no fun trying to pull is out the other end either if they happen to get it thru their system!
