Holiday code...and what it says on their site now :(

It would be funny if I actually made an error. I did not.

there's no such word as "irregardless". you meant "regardless".

disney puts a lot of time and effort into its marketing strategy. they got a lot of people to make purchaes yesterday. they may lose a few $$ because of what happened with the code, but by keeping the customers happy they'll gain in back over the long run.

Are you sure about that?! ;) Might want to reread that last sentence. Not to mention the capitalization! ;) Normally I wouldn't bother pointing it out BUT since others want to point out other poster's errors.......... :p :p :p

Um, BR, guess again:

got a lot of people to make purchaes yesterday

I've never made a purchaes. Do you have instruction sheets??;)

then you ignored the sage advice of your own dictionary -- "irregardless" is not a proper word.
However, it is a word.;)

You know, if we were writing college essays, being nitpicky about grammar would be understandable, but this is an internet message board. On the internet -- in chat rooms and on message boards -- most people type the way they speak and it's not always grammatically correct. I know I do.

It's an informal forum and people want to be relaxed. Many times I use "y'all" in chat or in posts. Would I use "y'all" if I were writing a letter to the editor of the New York Times or writing a graduate thesis? Of course not.

Besides, in the 7 years I've been online, I've always thought it was rude to criticize someone openly for using informal language in an informal forum.

And so should Browneyes. The word is a bast*rdization of English and should not be used. Irregardless" is a pet peeve of mine. It truly irritates me when people use it instead of the proper choices, "regardless" or "irrespective."

By the way:

sage

\Sage\, a. [Compar. Sager; superl. Sagest.] [F., fr. L. sapius (only in nesapius unwise, foolish), fr. sapere to be wise; perhaps akin to E. sap. Cf. Savor, Sapient, Insipid.] 1. Having nice discernment and powers of judging; prudent; grave; sagacious.

All you sage counselors, hence! --Shak.

2. Proceeding from wisdom; well judged; shrewd; well adapted to the purpose.

Commanders, who, cloaking their fear under show of sage advice, counseled the general to retreat. --Milton.

3. Grave; serious; solemn. [R.] ``[Great bards] in sage and solemn tunes have sung.'' --Milton.

Me and you need to stick together on this stuff Briar. Nothing is worse then a bunch of people talking not good. If we start letting people talk any old way they feel like it than before you know it, we can't understand a word anybody is saying. Don't let them get to you, I got your back on this whole wordsmith thing. Hey wordsmith is kind of interesting don't you think? I wonder if there is a wordjones too? And who would name their kid "word" anyway? Probably the same bunch who use those "ir" words. Hey, I got one for you too,

sage
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French sauge, from Latin salvia, from salvus healthy; from its use as a medicinal herb -- more at SAFE
Date: 14th century
1 : a mint (Salvia officinalis) with grayish green aromatic leaves used especially in flavoring meats; broadly : SALVIA
2 : SAGEBRUSH

I guess you told them, huh! They'll think twice before coming around again with their unflavored meats and stuff. I don't care if that herb (oh the "H" is silent here, thought you might want to know that so people don't make fun of you) is medicinal or not, there is just no place for it in proper language. Did you notice that "sage" comes from France? I told you to watch out for them French words, they can be a bugger. Hey, my definition is from the 14th century, how old is yours? Don't you love guys like Webster? Oh, I was going to tell you that Webster isn't that little kid on television that used to have his own show, it's a different guy. I know that can be confusing sometimes. I always got that kid confused with Gary Coleman didn't you? And whatever happened to Punky Brewster?
