:( Did I fall into a coma and miss something? Whatever happened to the disney movie holes? Anybody see it?

:( Wow! it went the way of Dumbo Drop!

"Holes" was released in first-run US movie theaters back on April 18, 2003 — so it's not surprising that it isn't in many first-run theaters any more.

It was a good movie.

See http://movies.yahoo.com/boxoffice/latest/rank.html for recent box office results. For the June 6-8 weekend, it was the number 12 ranked movie — not bad for a movie that's already been out for 8 weeks.

OK, let me ask this then: How come no big fuss was made about the movie like with every other movie disney makes, whether good or bad? I guess my whole point was that I don't remember any kind of huge advertising campaign , All I saw was a web site, {which is still on line} and nothing else. I do not even remember the movie being in theatres around here. Was it one of those limited engagement things? If not, then I surely had to be asleep for a month .

It seems like 'Holes' was only distributed by Disney, maybe? I could be wrong...

If you missed 'Holes', you missed a great movie.

Since we're talking about Disney movies of that type, what ever happened to that "Tuck Everlasting" movie?

Holes was awesome and it has done well at box (63 Million to date). It was well publized with trailors and such, I'm and avid moviewatcher so I knew about it.

"Tuck Everlasting" only played in theaters here a short time, but it's been out on DVD for quite some time now. It's really a great movie, I recommend you go out and rent or buy it. Reminds me of the live-action Disney movies of the 60's. Good stuff.:D

Disney gave "Holes" a strong promotional campaign and the film is considered a major hit, especially given its $20 million budget.

If anything, the hype surrounding the release of "Anger Management" overshadowed the success of "Holes", not to mention that Disney also began promoting "The Lizzie McGuire Movie" in force just a couple weeks later.

I went to see Holes the weekend that it opened and again a couple of weeks ago. I agree that it ranks with The Rookie(which I also bought on DVD), and will buy Holes when it is released also. I really enjoyed this movie!

Our family really enjoyed Holes and Tuck Everlasting! They were both great for the entire family and both featured some pretty "big name" stars. I think that both, unfortunately, had limited appeal though. They were not really for the preschool set like the Pixar things, and older kids who can't be happy without blood, guts, explosions, comic book characters, bad language, etc... would not bother seeing them. It's a sad commentary on society!

Just to even the playing field, my DD is 14 and loves Tuck Everlasting. She's watched it with several of her friends and they all really liked it. Maybe it's older BOYS that would find it too boring.
