just had to cancel 1 nite of my feb trip due to the northeast snow...the points (16) went into holding....how long can they stay there?

They can stay there until the end of your use year. You must use them to book a stay that has the check in date that is 60 days or less away.

I don't believe holding account points can be used for an exchange through Interval International if that's your questions.

You can always call MS and maybe they can make an exception.
