Hi. I was wondering if you experts could tell me if I'm going to be able to hold my son who will be almost 2 for some of the calmer rides? I think he'd really like the new nemo ride, but it seems long. Will he have to sit by himself for most of them? He's been exposed to the amusement park scene since he was weeks old but nothing near the scale of some of the rides at disney! Now I don't mean rollercoasters, age fitting rides that is. Is there a link to age/height requirements for disney rides? Thank you!

Helene

There are no rides that a toddler/baby would ride by themselves. (to my knowledge)
All rides like, Pooh, Peter Pan, It's a Small World, Aladdin, Carousel, Dumbo, Jungle Cruise, etc. everyone can ride on it.

You either ride in cars of 2's or 4's.
We took our 15 month old and almost 3 year old and we rode ALL the rides with them. (that were age and height appropriate)

My almost 3 year old would sit next to me or my husband.
We always held our 15 month old.

Take care
Kathryn

The pp is correct. All rides at WDW that do not have height requirements are designed so that children can ride with their parents. There might be one or two rides that the cm's will tell you the child has to be seated on the seat instead of on your lap (like dumbo for instance) but kids that age are not allowed to ride alone. Also, if you go to the Theme parks Section of The Dis, there's a height calculator linked there which will show you which rides your dc will not be able to go on. but don't worry, there'll still be plenty to keep you all busy and entertained. :thumbsup2

I took both DD and DS on lots of rides sitting next to me or DH with our arms around them. Both are big for their age, (and DH and I are both large people) so anything with a lap bar the kids had to sit next to us.

Yep, you won't have a problem holding him. I took DD on most rides at 9 months. I just made sure I had a good grip on her (esp. Peter Pan!)

Thank you for the directions to the link that was exactly what I was looking for! MY son is not even 1 1/2 yet and is already the size of a 2 yr old... He's already been on alot of stuff at Hershey Park and Knoebles. :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

If you go on allears dot net, there is a section that describes each ride in all of the parks in detail. There is a ton of information in it!

We will be takingDS16 mo in Dec so I am interested in seeing which rides we can take him on too. When we took him last year at 3 mo, he went on IASW, Peter Pan, POTC, Pooh, Spaceship Earth and the Mexico ride. I can't wait to take him on Dumbo this year!
