Holding account????

I have a question regarding holding account. We were originally going to go to Hilton Head for 4 nights in a 2 bedroom and do Disney for 2 nights in a studio. Now less than 2 weeks out we have changed our mind and want to do an extra day at Disney and leave Hilton Head a day early. Difference would be 17 less points used. What will happen to my extra points if I change reservations. My use year is June and I used 06 points for the reservation.

I am in a similar situation. I believe those 17 points will have to remain in your 06 UY (no banking) and can only be used for reservations within 60 days of booking.

Let me get this straight.... You are going before the end of May? If you are, then those points were borrowed, and must be used in the last 60 days of your current use year, so they would expire on May 31st of this year. If you aren't traveling until after June 1, then those points would be available for a reservations anytime before May 31, 2006, but as stated above, the reservation could only be made up to 60 days ahead of the trip.

To give you a complete answer, we need a little more information.

You say you're using June 2006 points. Are you traveling in May or June? If it's May and you borrowed these points, they will expire on May 31. If it's June, you'll have until May 31, 2007 to use these points. As Holding Account points, they can't be banked or borrowed and, as already mentioned, can only be used to make reservations 60 days or less before you plan to travel.

Thanks to all the replies. I called member services and since it is actually May 31st the date of the change it has to be used that day. We decided to stay in a 1 bedroom the first night at the Beachclub so we would not loose any points and get to stay somewhere the kids can enjoy the pool the first day.

I have a follow up question--We are now coming in Wednesday afternoon and not doing the dining plan the first night. We will then be transferring to the Beach Club where we are doing the dining plan. Can we check into the Beach Club on Thursday morning so we can use our dining credits when we enter the park on Thursday morning?

Yes you can use your dining credits immediately after check in.
