Hold or hand luggage

Does anybody know of a website which gives details of where items can be transported. I know that razor blades, scissors etc cannot be carried in hand luggage, but how about electrical equipment, mobile phones etc. I've checked the BA and Virgin websites and they are both very limited.

I always carry my electrical equipment in my suitcase IE hairdrier,Iron etc etc.
My DVD player,cam corder,walkman etc, I carry in my hand luggage

I do the same as Jules and have never had any problems. Mobile phone is always in hand luggage but turned off before I even get near the plane.
