We just got back from a trip where we bought the DDP for the first night only. We changed resorts after that and no longer wanted the dining plan for the rest of our stay. The problem was that when we checked into BCV I thought I wouldn't need my BWV room key anymore. :confused3 Well, when I went to charge my lunch the day we changed rooms I had my new key and it didn't have the dining plan on it. Duh! We were able to have the charge deducted at the front desk. Live and learn.

Dining points have always been attached to your room key.....That room key should have worked for your dining credits until midnight of the day of checkout.

I'm having trouble following...

You stayed at BWV and got DP for 1 night in which the DP credits are on you KTTW card until midnight of check out. It sounds like you threw out your room card?

Anyway, you checked into BCV, and decided you did want the DP, so you thought the DP credits would still be on your new card? As Diane already mentioned, they were on your original card, and they would have told you this when you added the DP, as well as during check-in process. Did they not tell you about how the credits work? This is how the DP has always worked...

Glad they worked it out for you, Tiger

OP wanted DDP for one night only and made the mistake thinking that the credits would be on their new KTTW card because they still had credits available when they checked into the second resort.

When we checked out of BWV they deactivated our keys when we checked out. We went to spend the afternoon in Epcot and our DDP did not work. We had to pay out of pocket and then go back to BWV and the Manager had to reinburse us all the money we paid out of pocket. It was a big inconveniece. When we called DDP they said that it was happening a lot with BWV.

Okay, so this sounds like yet another glitch in the new computer system.

Just got back from BWV. Had the QSDP for the first night only. Got new keys the 2nd day. Went to use the dining credits on the old cards and it wouldn't work. Half way through the day we discovered they were on our new cards:confused3 Also tried our old card later in the stay and they still worked on the door.

To the OP: This happened to us. Don't feel bad; it's technically not your fault. We got stuck between YC and GF. It was not fun. Our park passes on the KTW cards didn't work either. It was a pain in the neck going to MK and then having to head back to the resort when we couldn't get in the park.

That's what I did. It dawned on me later that day that the BWV card probably would have worked. We only used the DDP once before this so I wasn't too knowledgeable there.

Got it! Glad it worked out, and now you know that you should keep your room cards.

Tiger :)
