Okay I just looked into it and HoJo's, The Ramada main gate and the Marriot Fairfield Inn are all in our price range. Can anyone tell me more information about any of these and which one would be the nicest? The difference in price is very small! We would be on our honeymoon (and we're on a budget as we're taking a *very* long honeymoon across the West coast)

Well Ive heard they are all decent. I really depends on what you think would be best. I booked the Ramada myself for June as it is directly across from the park and there are lots of places to eat around it. I found it was closer then the HoJo in case I wanted to walk back to the hotel for a nap or a change of clothes. The HoJo is a 5-7 min brisk walk down the road from the main gate and there are shuttles that go to it. But I also heard that the Ramada has a great continental breakfast which would also save on money.

I havent heard much about the Marriott except that its 2 blocks away. I believe its closer to the convention senter and you might need to take a shuttle to get to the Disney Parks if you dont want to keep walking that far several times a day.

I would say the Ramada would get my vote. I was tossing up Hojo myself but I like going with instant convenience.

Maybe it has changed lately, but we hated the Ramada because it was filty! Our carpet was so dirty our feet were black and the air conditioner was just one of those stuck right in the window and leaked right onto the floor and there was mold-yuck!! They did have a big pool though and a basic minimum continental breakfast.

HoJos is a bit farther walk but I think much nicer especially if you reserve a room in Tower 1 with a park view. They have balconies and you can watch the fireworks through the trees and see the top of space mountain and the monorail go by. Great pools but no breakfast and a longer walk. You can be sure that it will be clean though!

We have never stayed at the Fairfield but have heard good things. It is probably the shortest walk of the 3 but hojos is just a bit past it.

Some other favorites of ours for being close and clean are the Best Western Park Place Inn right at the cross walk and the Candy Cane Inn. CCI is as far as Hojos but is on the other side of the street and has its own free shuttle and a really really good breakfast, small but nice pool. Check out their prices and don't forget to ask for any discounts like AAA if you have that.

Congrats on your wedding and it sounds like you are planning a great honeymoon trip! Have fun.

I just remembered that many people are posting that they are getting incredibly great rates at Hojos ($54/night!) using the entertainment books. You must call the hotel directly for these rates and if they have them and you can reserve that rate, you can get the book after for around $20 I think. You do not have to use the orange county/anaheim book because any of them will work and I have not heard of any other great coupons in that one. Since you are visiting other areas, it might be well worth checking out the different books that might have better coupons and savings for you. Here is the link to the entertainment books: http://www.entertainment.com/discount/home.shtml

You can always try Trip Advisor online and see what they say about the hotels. I heard that the Ramada has been getting redone so im sure the changes are wonderful. I've had friends stay at the Ramada recently and enjoyed it.

Hi! We stayed in the Fairfield during our engagement trip in October 2005. We found the (groundfloor) room great, it made it an easy walk to the park. the room was slightly dated but clean and quiet. Having the McD's in the parking lot helped on the way to the parks for a bit of breakfast. We didn't try the pool but it looked fine, just basic. Overall, we are looking at an October trip for our 1st anniversary and I've already checked out the prices for the Fairfield. It's also a fair bit closer than the HoJo (althought it really depends which HoJo building). Just my 2 cents.....

We just booked the entertainment book rate at the HOJO for May. It was 69.00 for the park view rooms.:thumbsup2 You can reserve the rooms without the entertainment book card. You just have to show it at check in! Just make sure to call the hotel directly and ask for their in house reservations, Don't call the 1-800 number! Congrats and have a good trip!

How did you manage that rate?! I just called for dates in October and the rate after the discount was $108, and this was for the basic rooms! She mentioned to me that the discount for the coupon was 10%, does this sound right?

Thanks!

You have to call the hotel directly (not the 800 number) and ask for the "entertainment rate". I have ressies for December at $69/night for a premium view room.

Call the hotel directly you can tell them you would like to make entertainment book reservations and they will connect you. I had a friend call about rates in Oct and she was able to get the rate also. I believe that the entertainment rate is 50% off.

Here is the Direct number (714) 776-6120

Good luck! Hopefully they will have something ;)

I tried the entertainment rate for our end of June vacation and was quoted 119.00.
I love the HoJo. The rooms are clean and big. I love the space you get for the price. I don't mind the "retro" look it has on the inside but, then again I am not there for the non fashion sense of the hotel. The pool is nice too. We spent our honeymoon there almost a year ago.

When I called the hotel directlyans spoke with someone in in-house reservations asking for the entertainment book rate and the 10% was what they quoted me. Are there any date or room type restrictions on the coupon? Does anyone have a coupon they could scan? I am definitely willing to buy the book, but don't want to order it if the 10% is the best they can do...

Also, does anyone know if this can be combined with the 10% mousesavers coupon?

Thanks!!

Yeah! I called again and was quoted $54/night for our stay! Now all I have to do is get an entertainment book ;) . I love getting a good deal, and 50% of the rack rate is definitely a good deal!

Thanks OP!

Lol thats where i'm staying in June too. I saw some mixed reviews, but for the close distance to the park I suppose I can always ask to switch rooms or complain real loud if it's really that bad, which I don't think it will be.

I have the 2007 Orange County Entertainment Book and Anaheim Howard Johnson isn't even listed in it...not under Orange County nor Anaheim Hotels. They do have a coupon for Knott's, but wouldn't you know...it expires Nov. 1st and we won't be going down to California until the 10th. :sad2:

Oh well...I can make use of the 20% discount for our car rentals anyway.

Are you sure? That is strange because my Phoenix book has it listed and they are honoring Ent rates throughout 2007. I have an Ent rate booked for the end of November. I would call the HoJo Anaheim directly (local number) and ask them about the ent. rate.

Another vote for hojo - we loved it.

Nice, clean, big rooms, great staff, and a great pool for the kids. It was also a very short walk to the park - 10 minutes maximum.

Security was also evident and very reassuring.

The only drawback was trhere was no restaurant on site or breakfast. But there is a little store that sells everything you need and a great restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner right across the street - Mimi's.
