Has anybody ever had 5 people to room at the Howard Johnsons? I'm looking at their website and I only see two beds in the room- no sofa that can convert to a bed. When I plugged in 5 people (2 Adults, 3 children) they accepted the request, so I'm assuming we can all fit. Where would the third person sleep?

Thanks :)

On the floor or maybe they have roll aways?

I guess it takes into account for an infant that can sleep in a pack n play. We were fortunate that they let us book 6 in a standard last fall because I had 2 under the age of 3 and the other 2 kids were 4 and 7. My 3 girls slept in the other queen and DS slept in the pack n play. We had plenty of room...

I agree with 3Minnies1Mickey with having plenty of room. We stayed in a 2Q with 2 adults, 3 kids (ages 8, 31/2, 1 1/2). The kids shared a bed, but more often my older wanted to sleep on the floor and there was room for that. We drove down so we had extra blankets to throw on the floor. I think HoJo assumes the fifth person is usually a child and lets you book compared to many other hotels which say 4 max.
How old are your kids? If you have 3 "grown" children you might find the 2Q smaller FWIW.

On the floor?? Ick. I'm not comfortable with that. I'd be really surprised if the hotel told us that the sleeping accommodations included somebody having to sleep on the floor.

Has anybody had a roll-away here or a sofa that converts to a bed?

:rotfl2:
I am sure that the accommodations do not require you to sleep on the floor. They do have roll aways available in all rooms except the 1K. The sofa sleepers are in the suites (Q,K,kids)
HTH

Then don't stay at the GCH. The 5th person gets a sleeping bag...:rolleyes1

We always stay in the 2 queen Deluxe rooms and those have never had a roll away in them. I do know that the 2 doubles in the Pavillion buildings usually have one. In any case, you can have them bring you one if you need it, I think the charge is $7-10.

They will provide you with a rollaway but you have to request it. By the way they are the comfiest rollaways I've ever seen! They didn't charge us extra but I believe they are supposed to be an extra $7 per night.

Alrighty, I just checked w/ them directly. Yes, they have roll-aways and they're $15/night. That brings it up to $180/night for HoJo. Seems kinda pricey for a "budget" hotel. I'm going to do some searchin' around to see what else is recommended within walking distance.

Make sure you look into getting the Entertainment Rate if it's available. That's what really makes the HoJo affordable. I love it and I'm keeping my figners crossed that more of my dates come up.

No, I don't think I was. What is an "Entertainment Rate"? How do I qualify?

I can't find anything on their website that says "Entertainment Rate". I just searched for "best available". How do I find the Entertainment Rate?

It's just a special rate that is available on select dates when you have en Entertainment Card (from the Entertainment coupon books). Here's the HoJo's message board about what it is and how you can get it: http://www.hojoanaheim.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=13

It's totally awesome!

You have to call the Anaheim location to actually get the rate (you can book online and then call them to have it switched to the better rate).

If they don't have ET rate available, you can call the in-house reservations and add the Disboards discount, which is 15% off rack rate.

You can get a mini-suite at the BWPPI for no more than $129 a night 2 queens and sleeper sofa. Call them directly and tell them you want the facebook discount and it will be 20% off same as the AAA discount. Closer to the park too.

Is this the HoJo's across the street? I've read some really bad reviews on it if it is. I can give you some recs if you want which would probably be cheaper.
