We are looking at spending 3 nights in DL in April. I priced a room at Paradise Pier, which with tickets is almost 1200, but when I priced the Hojo it is much less, and it has a theme park view. I would LOVE to hear about the Hojo, and know if the theme park view is worth it and if one part of the building is better than others for a good view. What part of the park can you see? I know Paradise Pier you see the back of CA, what do you see from Hojo? Can you see the fireworks? Do they pipe the music in like they do in the DL hotels? Although a Disney hotel would be nice, it is about twice as much money, and from looking at the map methinks the view from the hotel might be better, plus it would have a balcony. Any opinions?

I have nothing to say...YET! :) But I will let you know as we have booked a Theme Park View room at the Hojo....

Oh, should have mentioned we leave Sunday so I'll post the following week and let you know if I thought theme park was worth it and how we liked the hotel...we're going to try to check out the other DL hotels too....

I stay there at least twice a year (of course, I am up there every weekend lol) ... I love it ... we always get a park view (which is of the Matterhorn/Tomorrowland/Monorail track and you can hear the train whistle) and you can see the fireworks but depending on what floor you are on you might have some tree branches in the way (but not a problem IMO):thumbsup2

So would you request to be higher up to avoid the tree branches, or is it really a non-issue?

I don't find it to be an issue ... the front desk is great if you find it to be a concern :goodvibes

Maid service is wonderful as well … on our last stay we headed to the park at 8am and came back around 9:30am and our room was done  … Around 10:30am we had a knock on the door and a maid asked if she could clean … she looked passed me and noticed the room was already done lol :rotfl: … when we are hanging out in the room we leave the door open to the balcony to here the DL Train whistle :goodvibes

I love watching the fireworks from the balcony and also hearing some of the sounds of Tomorrowland if I listen really closely. :)

WE have stayed at the DLH and in October stayed at HOJO because of the price difference. The walk was about the same and we enjoyed HOJO. We did not have a theme park view, but had a great room, the rooms are large... the staff was nice and the gift shop great, lots of snack stuff and breakfast stuff. You will not be sorry if you stay at HOJO.

We love the HoJo! We have stayed at the HoJo for 8 years sometimes twice in a year. We also spent our honeymoon there. We love the service, the pool and the view. We have always fortunately stayed in building 1 where the view to DL is better than the other buildings. The noise factor doesn't bother us. The hotel is very close to the I-5. We will not stay anywhere else. :thumbsup2

The Hojo also has really nice grounds and two very nice pool areas, including one with a childrens spray area and kiddie pool. And if you sit in their hottub you have a great, warm and relaxing spot to see the fireworks! It also has Mimi's next door, which is a great place to eat for substantially less than the parks. Wonderful breakfasts there. I think you will enjoy your stay there.

I have nothing but nice things to say about HoJo's.

You can print out a coupon from Mouse savers that will give you ten percent off your room rate.

We are staying at HOJO as well. 1st timers, travel agent says you can see the fireworks from the pool area.
Does anyone know if you book a package, can you request a view of DL? My agent only put it in our file. I e-mailed the hotel to try there best, it will be interesting to see what happens.
NOTE: Great information and maps of HOJO, hotel room locations, and 360 views of rooms, pool etc.

I made a 2-night reservation for next week, so I'll try to remember to post.

The strangest thing happened after I submitted my online reservation. This little chat screen came up and said "get $10 off by typing 'hello' or 'hi'". Usually I ignore nonsense like that but I figured I had nothing to lose and typed in 'hi' as requested. Then a second message appeared saying that she had been authorized to increase my discount to $30. I don't believe for a minute that there was an actual person on the other end, and I'm certainly not counting on actually getting that discount. But it will be interesting to see if anything happens.

When we stayed there in November the maid service was also quick however I got walked in on twice while I was changing and the maids both times didn't even knock. And the rooms had already been cleaned.

But the Hojo is a great place to stay and we didn't have a view of the park from our room so we watched the fireworks from the hottub.

ooops! Not good. Guess I'll be sure to use the DND sign for naps, etc. ;)
That happened to me once when napping in New York at the Plaza and I think the maid was more embarrassed than me. I didn't complain but she must have tattled on herself because they offered us a nicer rm for the remaining nights :cool1:

lol that's funny. We didn't complain about our maid until the second time she did it and I was actually topless! They didn't upgrade us to another room but they did apologize and that was more than I was expecting, I was just hoping she wouldn't do it again. lol.
