HoJo Plaza vs. Candy Cane Inn?? Any opinions??? Help needed

As far as Candy Cane Inn -- the one thing I don't like about them is that they are very exclusive on their booking options. They are one of the few hotels in the area that does not allow booking via the many large reservation networks (Travelocity, etc). Instead, they prefer to handle all their reservations themselves. I'm not certain, but that philosophy generally doesn't benefit the consumer in terms of competitive pricing and deals.

I haven't found Travelocity, Expedia or the like to give better rates day-to-day than one can get on the hotels' own sites or calling the hotel directly to get AAA, AARP, etc. discounts. :confused3

That said, I booked for June at CCI with a AAA rate through the hotel's reservation site -- it's only a $10/night discount off the regular standard room rate, but you can get that by clicking on their "specials" link to get the discount code to enter when you're making the reservation, or calling the hotel. CCI apparently doesn't offer an Entertainment Book discount, but then neither did HoJo's for the dates we needed, so the rates were pretty comparable.
