Ok which is better the HOJO or the Hyatt Regency Orange County I am going on June 21-25. It will be me my mom and t boys (2 and 6). I can get both at a really good rate, HOJO being $10 per night more. Which should I choose and why?

Thanks in advance for any advice!:thumbsup2:cool1:;)

HOJO.

I've never been to Hojo, but I've seen their site. Stayed at the HR in '02.

Hojo is closer, has a better water play/pool area. HR is too far IMO & after staying close by I'll never venture that far again.

The pool is kinds making me lean toward the HOJO. The Hyatt is just a lot more upscale it seems and for $10 less. Thats the only reason I am not for sure yet on picking the HOJO.

yes but with your rate does that include parking? I thought some hotels had a daily parking fee...hojo does not. Also you cannot walk from the other, or it'd be a loooong walk with two kids. So for me, it'd be hojo hands down.

never stayed at either but researched them while picking our hotel. HOJO looks like tons of fun! I needed a hotel with suites. Next time we go I'm hoping my kids will be older and we can check out HOJO's!!

We are flying and will be using ART...so no parking for us.

Some hotels charge an extra "resort fee"-- the DLR hotels do-- which include parking and internet use fees, regardless of whether you have a car or not. HoJo does not; parking and internet are free.

The dealbreaker for me would be the distance. With two little ones, you want to be in walking distance, so you can easily get back for midday breaks. Not only will the kids need it, so will YOU! ART is a pain and not always there when you want it. Especially returning at night, it can be PACKED. Hydroguy's Hotel Rule: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1199862

Before you book HoJo, though, be sure and call them directly and talk to IN HOUSE reservations. Lorealle or Jennifer will get you 15% off the best rate for mentioning the DISboards. That may even out your $10 difference, too.

Hyatt Regency will be more upscale, but HoJo is very nice, and I think the advantages will outweigh the difference in price. :thumbsup2

HTH!

hay im going to be at hojos an still have art just in case i think we need it but hojos is a very easy walk. I have a foot problem an at night it hurt to much I just need art for a few rides. I'm not sure there routs or times they pick up an drop off at hojos.

but i would pick hojo I felt safe there an Lorealle made me feel good about being there before we even got there. She is so nice an on here alot. The 15% off for disboards is worth a try to see if that takes the 10 a night down

Ok Im convinced! Im going to book HOJO! Thanks for all the advice!

YAY Im sooo excited! I just booked the HOJO deluxe queen room with Disney view for $89.00/ night (travel agent rate). I'm so excited!!!!!!!! Only 85 days away!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::dance3::yay::woohoo::wizard::rotfl::cool1::cheer2::cheer2:

This really sums it up. I think being walking distance to DL is so much a plus that its worth giving up the more upscale type hotels that are in the area, but not walking distance. And Hojo, while older is very nice. The advantage to an older hotel is that the rooms are usually very spacious, and Hojo is very much that way. So think the OP made the right choice!

:cool2: Cool! Hope you have a great time!

Your kids are going to love the Castaway Cove water play area! :woohoo:

so excited

Good job!

I've stayed in both and you couldn't pay me to have to take a shuttle or park and drive and park in the DL sturcture from the Hyatt Regency.

I am plush-sized and I can walk from building 1 Hojo's to the Main Gate entry in 7 minutes.
