Hi!
We will be staying at the HoJo and I was wanting advice on the best way to get to the hotel. We are a family of 4 with two children ds 2.6 and dd 6. What do you think is the best way to get to and from the airport? We have taken a shuttle in the past not sure how the kiddos would do. Also any one with and taxi or limo price ideas?
thanks Kim:cutie:

You didn't say where you are needing transportation from. Airport?

I prefer to take a cab from SNA. It's $35 flat rate to the hotel. You will have to negotiate a flat rate back to the airport. Otherwise, I have heard that renting a car from SNA is very reasonable, and the drive is a straight shot to the DLR area (about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic). HoJo doesn't charge for parking.

So they have a flat rate from the air port but not going back? That is strange. Any ideas on who is the cheapest car rental company in the area?
thanks Kim

When I stayed at the Hojo we asked the front desk to arrange a cab for us to get back to SNA (my fil had picked us up but we had an early flight going home and didn't want him to have to mess with that). They actually used a towncar service, it was something like $36 (this was three years ago). Perhaps they did that due to the fact cabs will not do a flat rate on return trips to the airport? In any case, I asked them at check in, the front desk employee said she would take care of it and she did, the guy was waiting right near our building at 4:00 a.m. no problem. I can tell you I have taken cabs to SNA from both the Disneyland Hotel and Paradise Pier and its never been over $40 (plus tip) for the four of us. I would personally rather cab it than mess with a rental car anyday. Now if you plan to do other things in the area, thats a different story. But if all you plan to do is Disneyland, that rental car will sit in the Hojo parking lot the whole time and you'll have to deal with L.A. traffic. If you decide to do the cab route, I would ask the front desk staff as soon as you check in to arrange return transportation that is reasonably priced. Thats what they did for us, the Hojo has an extremely helpful, competent staff and they will gladly handle it for you.

I have also used Golden West Express: www.goldenwestexpress.com They were very reasonable when I used them for LAX to the DLH. My brother has also used them. If you email them, they will give you a quote. I haven't used them between Disneyland and SNA but I know they service that route all the time.

Good luck!

With small kids maybe a cab would be best. Seems that the shuttles run about $10 per person. If you are only going to Disneyland, then I would not rent car, but you may want to think about visiting the ocean. We have used National, Budget and Alamo in the past.

Have a great trip!

We rented a car for 5 days from Costco.com total price incl. tax is $58.00.It came out cheaper than paying for any other transportation even with gas since we will just be driving to HOJO's & parking it.
We did the same thing last DEC for WDW we rented through Costco.com travel section a 12 passenger van for 10 days total price incl tax was $527.00 & with costco you also get to add an additional driver for no extra cost.
