I know it's been posted on here millions of times, but who and what number do I call to get the best rates at Hojo? I have an Entertainment Book. And what rooms/buildings do I want to request or maybe should avoid for the best possible stay?

Thanks so much!

Here's a link for the layout of the property:

Here's a link to the room layouts and what amenities they all have:

I believe deluxe rooms are in Building one, facing the resort, and also in Building 2, overlooking the pool. Standard rooms are all the others.

When you call, be sure you ask for IN HOUSE reservations; they are there between 9-5 pacific time. Ask for Lorealle, she is the best! But they are all nice and helpful. They can tell you all about room placement, if you want to ask about a quieter room, or whatever, and they will note your requests.

Premium rooms are in bldg. 1 and are $74 with the ent. rate. Deluxe rooms are in Bldg. 2 and are usually offered at the same rate as Standard rooms in Bldgs. 3,4,5,6 ($59 with the ent. rate).

Wowwee! I am so glad I found this thread!:cool1:

I thought I was getting great deal with the AP discount, but wow!

I am wondering when they will add new dates? I am looking for February... Thanks guys!!!:goodvibes

That Entertainment book referred to...can folks on the East coast get one? If so, how are they ordered?

You can order whatever one you want, the card in the front is what you will need, and it is universal.

You can order them from entertainment.com

Okay, so I booked a Garden Pool view room for $59 a night Nov. 22-26th. Total was $271.40!!! I'm so excited.

3-Day park hoppers through Getawaytoday.com are $830 for our family of 6 (baby is free).

We were booked at the Disneyland Hotel with a package (including meal plan) and our total for the package was $2600. DH thinks he's going to be laid off at the end of this month (he works construction and it's been a slow year anyway). He wouldn't go back to work until sometime next spring (usually between April and May). That would mean a long winter!!

We have been planning this trip since early this year and have the money for the trip with the exception of gas money (the kids have been saving souvie money and we have also been saving our change for extra spending money). I even have $100 in gift cards for Rainforest Cafe. I told dh that we could cancel our package, stay at HoJo, take breakfast foods, get 3-day park-hoppers instead of 4 (kids could enjoy the new water play area at the hotel one day), and take snacks and water into the park since we have a stroller.

He's still worried about money and thinks we should cancel all together and put the money in savings for the winter.

I'm having a really hard time with this. We haven't been to Disney or on any real vacation (with the exception of camping for a weekend here or there) since December 2005. I need this trip!

Wow, so sorry to hear that! Good luck!

Here's what I would do.

Book HoJo (if you haven't). Mark the calendar on day BEFORE the last day you could cancel with them with no penalty, so you can be sure to cancel if you need to.

Cancel the package (FWIW, the meal package isn't actually a financial deal, you're just paying for food up front, which you can do easily by putting money aside or buying disney giftcards every so often if you have a Disney Store nearby ALTHOUGH I wouldn't do the latter in your situation, just in case he IS laid off and you need the money).

Find out from GAT how much lead-time they need for ordering tickets. Disneyland *just* raised ticket prices, so I can't imagine you're going to have another increase until late next summer. Really check out the difference in prices between 3 and 4 days, b/c the difference isn't all that much (though multiplied by your big family it could add up).

Check out the menus for the restaurants inside the parks at allears.net, and find the websites for the restaurants outside (Coco's, Mimi's, Millie's, Quiznos, overpriced compared to other ones IHOP, and Denny's, to name a few). Get a handle on what you really might spend on food.

If you can figure out a way to save the money for this (oh by the way, disneyshopping dot com has an "outlet" area, and you CAN get some really good prices, which allows you to get souvenirs ahead of time, to pull out of a backpack when the kids get the "I wannas") for this AND save money for the "just in cases" it might really help your hubby. Vacations are so important IF you can take them.

Do you work for pay? If not, start lining up temp jobs you could apply for, if he's laid off. That way he could stay home with the kids and you could bring home the bacon. If you do work for pay already, that idea's not possible, of course.

I wish you lots of luck!!!!

Thanks a lot. I'm going to that site right now and see if I can get one which we can use next year for Hojo's. Or do I need to wait til closer to trip time (probably fall of next year)?

I did go to this website and it asks for my zipcode, which of course means that I would be buying a book for my area, not one that had the Hojo discount in Calif., right?

Yes you would be buying a book for your area which will have coupons in it for your area restaurants etc... The entertainment card in the front and is universal and can be used anywhere!! :cool1:

Thanks for the info. I do work full-time outside the home. We are used to dh being off for about 3-4 months every winter and he does collect unemployment during that time. We also put money into savings to help with that time of the year, but there hasn't been as much put into savings this year because he hasn't worked as much. We will make ends meet, so that won't be an issue, however, if he does get laid off as early as the rumors indicate, we will pull our youngest dd out of daycare and he can watch her. That will save $110 per week.

I know that the Disney Dining plan doesn't really save you any money, but we do like having it paid for before the trip. We've been several times before with the kids, so we know what to expect when it comes to meals and cost. I told him we could plan to bring stuff for breakfasts and bring water and snacks into the park in a bag in the stroller. Then we only have to purchase lunch and dinner. We won't have any extravagant dinners.

The kids have spending money for Disney that they've been putting aside for the past year. The oldest 3 have about $75 to $100 each. Last time we went, our 2 oldest dd's purchased charm bracelets and bought some charms for them. I imagine they will want to add to those. I don't usually purchase much in terms of souvenirs, although I'd like to get a dated ornament, and a box of Mr. Potato Head parts for the youngest dd (2 years old) that I'll hide for Christmas.
