Hojo Disney view

Dangermouse- Is the view effected at all if your not on the top floor in a Disney view room? Or is it still pretty much the same?

Well, they have a row of pine trees growing in front of Bldg. 1, and even though they keep them trimmed back, they may obstruct some of your view no matter what floor you are on. Here are some pics of our HoJo views which show the trees.

That's not too bad, you can still see quite a bit. I guess you could always move your head around to see around the trees too.

I was more concerned about not being able to see much if you were on too low of a floor.

Jen, I believe only the top 3 or 4 floors are considered "Disney View" rooms. The lower floors would have the view blocked for sure.

Oh okay, gottcha! So even though I requested to not be on the top floor, we'll still be high enough to see! That's what I wanted to know! :)

We were on the 3rd floor and while the trees were there we could still see quite well. They really didn't obstruct much at all....and we were right behind them. So, Disney view rooms are on the lower floors as well.

I am not familiar with the layout at HOJO, but I would like to stay in one of those two-stories, which building should I request?

The two-story courtyard buildings are numbers 3-6. There is no elevator, and I believe all the rooms have two double beds.

Thanks Everyone...
All of the input has been incredibly helpful and I, too, have contacted our friend Lorealle to make adjustments to our ressie. I'm glad that she is as patient as she is!:lovestruc

I agree! Lorealle is really great, she's been sooooo helpful to us over the past week or so. :goodvibes

Hi Dangermouse, thanks for all the info. You've just confirmed for me that we want to keep our current booking.

You're right about location of course, in 2005 we saw the fireworks and and projections, tink, etc from the hub, I cried it was so great. This time we aren't going into the parks until Sunday, and want to get an early start so we're just going to take it easy on Saturday night.

we have reserved one of the disney view rooms also in june and after reading this thread, i also contacted lorealle and asked for the highest floor and the best and quiestest room. i believe you are going before me, so be sure and post comments when you get back.
thanks,
mousiemom

well, how cool is that? we both are dissers and daughters with the same name!! very unusual! what is her middle name? kinsey's is camille. the only other time i've heard of someone with her name is when we were at disney world and someone saw her name on her backpack and stopped us and said her daughter who was 21 was named the same. my kinsey will be 8 in sept. we are so excited about going to dl! she can't wait to get on california screamin!!

Our daughter is Kinsey Noelle. She just turned 8 last month. You will love Disneyland. Its a different experience than WDW, but every bit as wonderful!

DangerMouse can you help me?
I booked our room today and this is what type of room we got. Can you tell me what you think.I've read several of your post and I would consider you and expert on the HOJO:wizard:
We have:
2 Queen beds in a delux room in bldg #2 with a pool/courtyard view
Is this a good location. Is it quiet?
Were going in the off season is there a way to get a free upgrade to a park view or suite?
Any help or advise would help:worship:
Laura
BTW When I made my ressie I had the most nicest lady help me out.Is there a way to let the HOJO know how wonderful she was or just wait till we check in.

Did you work with Lorealle? I bet you did! ;) She's actually here on the Disboards under the screenname "HoJoAnaheim", and is very helpful.

The room you have reserved is actually my preferred location at the HoJo. I love Bldg. 2 b/c it is quiet and I like the view overlooking the quiet pool. If you want a balcony, make sure you put that in your request, b/c not all of the rooms in Bldg. 2 have balconies.

You won't get an upgrade to a suite b/c they only have 2 of those on property and they book up waaaaay in advance. I honestly can't tell you about an upgrade to a premium view room. I would say if you really want a view and a microwave then go ahead and reserve a premium room now.

HTH!

Thanks for the help. The women I spoke to was named Sandy. I'm such a planning freak with all of my vacations. I have a hundered million(well not that many) questions to ask. If you have time to help me out sometime that would be great. i see that your going in May.Were going to WDW in may so Its hard to plan 2 trips at once. Weve been to WDW over 10times so not much planning to do with that trip. We have been to DL once and we stayed at the Crown Plaza and loved it but were looking for something closer to the parks. We at at a resturant called COCA I belive is there one located by the HOJO the food was good. Have you tried Mimi's cafe? Here I start with all the ?'s already

Ask as many questions as you like. Everyone on the this side of the Disboards is so helpful. I'll answer as much as I can, but I know others will be willing to help as well.

MiMi's is AWESOME! It is my favorite place to eat in or out of the parks. The corn chowder is incredibly good and their portions are quite large so split meals if you want to save money. Or take leftovers back to the HoJo (this is where that premium room microwave comes in handy). ;)
