Hello,

DH and I will be on our way to Disneyland in 31 days! :cool1: We have stayed at HOJO before, but never in Building 2 (we have been in Building 1 & 6). Anyone have a particular area of the building to suggest? I was thinking of requesting an upper floor, but don't know much more about room locations in that building beyond that. Looking for a quiet location.

Also, do any rooms provide a glimpse of the parks, or do the trees pretty much block that view?

Finally, do you typically call to attach the requests to your reservation, or do you e-mail them?

Thanks for your tips!

We will be staying in Building 1 and requested an upper level. We have never stayed at the HOJO in Anaheim before but loved the idea of the Water park. Since you have stayed here in the past, how does access to their water park work? Is it just accessible through room key cards?

Building 2 is their quietest building, and we always chose it before they added kid suites. There was only one time I remember hearing any noise, and that was when we stayed on the fourth floor far back in the building toward the center of the property. I could be very sensitive to noise, and I remember hearing freeway noise when I woke up in the middle of the night. I've mostly gotten over it now to the point that I can stay in the freeway side kid suites fairly comfortably these days.

So I guess my point is that unless you are extremely sensitive, you should be fine in most any room. If you are very sensitive to even little noises, I would suggest an upper floor toward the parking lot side of the building or a first or second floor room anywhere. I felt like the freeway noise carried better to the higher floors.

As for making requests, I have done them both ways in the past, calling or e-mail.

Your room key gives access to the water park.

Any other suggestions out there for Building 2?

Thanks!

BTW, I am now exactly 1 month out from our trip!!!

On on first stay there, we were on the top floor in a room at the end of the building closest to the freeway. The freeway noise bothered me from that room, so for the next trip, I requested to be at the other end of the building, toward the parking lot. The room that we received was on the 2nd floor in the middle of the building. It was very quiet there, and it worked out great. :)

Nice to know it's not just me. DH wasn't bothered by this since he sleeps heavier than I do, but I too noticed the freeway noise just a bit too much when we stayed where you described. My solution for this was the same as yours.

Thanks for the tips. As far as the room numbers go, is room 1 on each floor closest to the freeway or parking lot side of Building 2?

I wish I could remember room numbers for you, but it was 2 years ago! I know we were on the second floor in the middle of the building and our room was very quiet. I'll be bringing my Marpac white noise machine this year, but mostly because the baby uses it at home and I am praying it will help him sleep at the hotel as well!

Awesome, Thanks! We are spending Christmas at Disneyland and are so Excited to stay at HOJO.

Our first stay at Hojo was last December and we loved it! I hope you do too! Last year they had a beautiful tree up and it definitely added to the enjoyment of our holiday trip!

We stayed in Rooms 23 and 24 on the third floor in July which were the rooms at one end of the building I suppose you would call that the freeway end.
Ifyou look at the map on their website, the rooms were at the extreme end on the left. We were not bothered by noise, but we don't live on quiet suburban streets.
The rooms were shady as the trees outside were in full leaf.
The doors to these rooms were at right angles to each other, and because they were slightly around a bend in the corridor were quite private.
