Hoho's- meh

I see many raves regarding the kids' suites, but they are all located in Building 1 on the freeway side. Is it too loud in the rooms if you are a lite sleeper?

We stayed in it and we never had a problem with noise. I'm usually a light sleeper, but I have to admit that after a day at Disney, I just pass out!

Only on the 7th floor - due to skylights they were unable to sound proof them - we were on the 4th and 5th floor both times and sound was not an issue at all.

The kids suites are excellent in my opinion!

Depends on your sensitivity and what you are used to I think. There's very little night time traffic noise near where we live, so it's not a sound that's easy for me to screen out. We have stayed in the Hojo kid suites many times both before and after the sound proofing. You do hear freeway noise if there's not other noise (t.v., conversation, plumbing, air conditioner) going on in your room. It is far better post-soundproofing though than it used to be. I am a very light sleeper, and I sleep much better in these rooms since the soundproofing was added. My husband and sons have absolutely no problems sleeping in these rooms. I generally am tired from Disney and don't have a lot of trouble falling asleep, but if I wake up during the night, I sometimes find it hard to fall back asleep if the freeway outside is busy. Still it's an easier sound for me to ignore than ordinary street noise. For this reason, I didn't really like the Hojo view rooms in Building 1. Yes, they are on the side opposite from the freeway, but I could hear so much more street noise from Harbor and Manchester. I am obviously very sensitive to noise and a light sleeper. My husband and sons haven't had difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep in any of the Hojo room types we have tried.
