yes I can! I thought I was the only one too. People look at me funny when I do it. I thought it was just English but apparently is doesn't sound like normal talking.

Same here. It makes me worry though, I don't even realize I am doing it....

Finally, after hours of waiting, the train had reached Hogwarts! George stretched, and left the train. He followed where the new students went, and found a bunch of boats. George was nervous, having never sailed in a boat before, but stepped into a boat with another student, and found the boats moved themselves!

[turns corner and sees Hogwarts] Oh my goodness! It's so beautiful!

In about 30 minutes, the boats reached the grounds of Hogwarts. George looked up at the castle, mesmerized by how huge it was. Soon, they had entered the castle and one of the teachers spoke told them all the rules, and what to expect when entering the Great Hall. Everyone waited to enter.

Perpetua stood and waited to enter the Grand Hall. She was rather excited and couldn't wait to get in.

Soon, everyone was let into the Grand Hall in single file. All the other students were already in the hall, eating and drinking, but when they opened, they stopped and watched the kids make their way towards the Sorting Hat. George was nervous, even more so with everyone watching him. He looked at his feet, and waited until his name was called to go up.




The first student went up, and George looked up to see what happened. After a short wait, the hat yelled out "Hufflepuff!", and one table exploded into cheers. The child walked over to the table and sat down. It had begun.

The talking hat shocked George. "First it reads your mind, and now it can talk?!?" he thought to himself. One by one, the students went up, and then it was his turn. What was probably seconds felt like hours, when the hat finally announced "Ravenclaw!". George was relieved to finally get sorted, and made his way over to the table that was cheering the most, hoping it was Ravenclaw, and sat down.

Luna walked into the Great Hall in such awe. Professor McGonagall called her name and she walked up to the stool where the hat was placed on her head. She waited.

They called my name. I walked up to the stool, sat down, and felt the hat drop over my eyes. A little voice started whispering in my ear (hats can talk?) until I heard it scream out to the entire room......

Daffodil was excited and nervous at the same time. She walked up as the hat called her name. Ohh, everyone was looking at her. (she was very shy). She hoped her house would like her. Then the hat shouted out, "Hufflepuff!" Daffodil was happy to see that the Hufflepuff house was glad to have a new member.

"Perpetua Pheonixfire" was soon called. Perpetua walked up and waited for the hat to announce her house. "RAVENCLAW!" the hat yelled, Perpetua smiled.

My name is called and I nervously step up to the hat. I hear it incoherently mumbling in my ear. What felt like an hour passed but was really probably only a minute before I hear the voice ring out, "Gryffindor!" Relieved, I jump out of the chair and join the Gryffindor table, the first first-year to join them.

I heard them call Avery and I prepared myself for the walk up to the hat. I was extremely nervous but still trying to look confident, I tried to look like it was no big deal. The sorting hat didn't take long to yell out,"SLYTERIN!"
