OOC: Why do Alexei and Anya attend different schools?

OOC: This was back when I'd forgotten that Durmstrang and Beauxbatons were boys and girls schools like Hogwarts. But you can also put the spin that Alexei appealed more to the Russian end of things so he goes to Durmstang, but Anya was much younger than Alexei when they immigrated, so she remembers little of Russia and identifies more with being an American, so she goes to Salem.
