All right, maybe more of a frustration post but I just read that park to park is required to ride hogwarts express. Really makes me love disney more. So paying for 4 of our 5 kids and us adds an extra 300 dollars to our tickets (which I'm just now reading went up recently) We do love HP, but that's one expensive very short train ride. Is it worth 300.00 more dollars? We could all do a fun character meal at Disney for that!! Actually that's not a bad idea...![]()
I would say if you're a huge enough fan of Harry Potter and have all the time in the world than the extra cost is definitely worth it, especially if you have the money. Instead of paying the extra $300 on a character meal that you'll consume within a couple of hours, you get to experience a whole other park entirely for as long as you desire until the park closes. It isn't just a ride, but transportation to a completely different park and while Diagon Alley definitely impressed me on looks and shops (more so than Hogsmeade), Hogsmeade does have the advantage of more variety in attractions as well as more shops to explore. Not only that, but you have the whole Islands of Adventures to take advantage of as well.
It goes down to what you truly desire as an experience, but personally if I had the money to spend, I would spend it on another park that I have unlimited access to for as long as the park is open, rather than a character meal which would only last a couple of hours at the most. The question is, do you rather spend it on food, or entertainment? It's honestly what you decide is more important.
