Hoda Kotb named new permanent Co-Host of Today!

I love Hoda, she is so sweet and down to earth, compassionate and loving.
The Today Show made the right choice for sure!

Thank God they didn't go the Megan Kelly route, I would have been out.

*She will still continue to host the 4th hour with Kathie Lee.

They made the safe choice. I like Hoda. If they would nix Savannah, I might forsake GMA and become a regular viewer.

They should bump Al Roker for Dylan, since he's a "Weatherman" and not a Meteorologist.

Was she even on the short list? I'd say she's likely walking a tightrope to keep the position she has now.

I like Hoda too but I was a little surprised by the choice. I thought Willie Geist was a front-runner, but maybe not enough experience. It will be interesting to see if Hoda can hold her own in some of those harder hitting interviews. For as crappy of a person as Matt Lauer is, he was a good interviewer especially with tough interviewees and on tough subjects. I also think the Today show is trying capitalize on their recent ratings success by announcing Hoda so quickly.

I was stymied about that this morning. Did Willie Geist turn it down?? Hoda is fine for soft news but she dois ant have the chops for serious stuff. And two female anchors seems an odd move. Just my opinion.
