I was reading about this in my California magazine whilst waiting for my daughter to finish her swimming lesson this morning, it sounds great, is it worth a short visit?

If you are into dolls or are a hobbyist, then yes, it is. There's also a small kiddie amusement park there called Adventure City. I've never been in that part myself. They have a doll museum and a lot of intersting stores.

We are interested in dolls and stuff, I don't know if we would be sufficiently into it though if it is very specialist.

If you are interested in dolls you could also check out the American Girl Place that is openning in LA, I don't know which my dd is more excited about the trip to DL or AG Place LOL.

I'm sure my daughter would love American Girl, but we already have a build a bear obsession since WDW last year, so I am not going to start another.

I have booked her into libby lu before we go to Ariels Grotto in April as a suprise for her.

American Girl is opening in Los Angeles in April and it will be located in the Grove at the Farmers Market, a fantastic shopping area next door to CBS Studios. They are accepting reservations now. :goodvibes

I thought Hobby City was closed now. I haven't driven past that way in a while, but I had heard that it was closed and all the hobby shops and such were moving to different locations. I would call and double check before heading over there to be sure.

Hobby City is due to close sometime before the end of this year but I believe they will remain open through at least the summer. Some of the stores which are not owned and run by the family that owns Hobby City/Adventure City may choose to close up shop sooner so check before heading over there. Because of the advent of the internet, those who would have driven to their stores are now finding that they can shop for those same or similar items on the internet thus the drop in sells at many of the stores. Some of those shops will not be relocating and will simply close down.

It will be sad to see it completely closed. We especially loved Adventure City; it's such a great park for young children.
